Mitsui Garden Hotel Kyoto Kawaramachi Jokyoji

"This was my favorite hotel we stayed at on our trip to Japan. The property is clean, well maintained, in a fantastic location, and quiet. The rooms were perfect. Comfortable beds, very clean, and attentive service if we ever needed anything. Hotel rooms in Japan are small in comparison to what we are used to in the US but I found these rooms to be perfectly comfortable (although still small). Great shower too! The best location- you can practically stumble 2-3 blocks and you’re in Nishiki Market. The two largest dept stores are within the same few blocks distance too and both have great food halls. Gion is a short walk, Pontocho alley is about 5-7 mins. We loved our time here so much that we came back for a night after spending time in Hiroshima. The lobby has a nice complimentary coffee/tea machine available at all hours. The restaurant isn’t the biggest draw but was perfectly fine too. And a sweet touch—the front desk noticed it was my birthday the week before and gave me a beautiful Japanese silk drawstring bag as a gift when we checked out. It’s the little details like that which set a great hotel apart from the others :) We will definitely be back to the hotel on our next trip to Kyoto!"

What’s not to love: a fabulous welcome with a lovely complimentary welcome drink, room was beautiful and spacious, skin care packages , beautiful products for showering, very clean modern and well maintained, super friendly staff, amazing service and the most delicious breakfast. We will be back !!"

"This place is great! Very spacious, had fridge, microwave, kitchen utensils … we got a room with a separates bedroom that had washer machine which was so convenient. Bathtub was also great. Great option for those who want more space and don’t care about having a person at the front desk all the time. Only down site is that as they don’t have staff at front desk they do not receive luggage from another property. But if you want send it out, there is a family mart right next to it that does the job. Highly recommend this place though."
