Gulf Coast, United States of America hotel rooms at the Room Mate Hotels

"Hotel is next to the airport, but the airport noise is not loud in the building. The hotel charges $5/day to park, which seems like nickel and diming customers. Breakfast is not typically included with a room booked. Room service is only on request 24 hours in advance. They also make you read a long customer agreement online prior to checking in. I've never had to do that at a hotel before. The hotel did have a good assortment of snacks and drinks for a fee. My room was fine, but had a couple of issues. 1. The toilet rocked when using it. It was not shimmed to the floor. 2. The shower controls was missing a small lever that controlled the water temperature. 3. The AC sounded like a lawn mower starting up when the compressor kicked on. Breakfast was standard hotel items - eggs, sausage, bacon, potatoes. Bread, bagels, and cereal available. Cappuccino and latte were available for a charge. The decor of the hotel is urban chic. There are Instagram worthy spots around the hotel and pool area. "

"The wifi never worked. The hotel was clean but definitely needs a good remodel for the price paid. Our room had a very small TV, and there isnt a microwave in rooms FYI. The location was convenient and felt safe for my family when we were visiting with good restaraunt choices nearby. "

"Never used the pool. But we enjoyed both the simplicity and the 50s kitchy-ness. Would have liked to have had more towels. Lobby staff was great and the room cleaning staff were both effective and efficient."

"Had to upgrade to get ocean view, room bathroom grout cleaning, had to move again, no ocean view, which we upgraded to! 3rd room ok."

"The first one I had had hair on the shower gel there was no tissue in the room. The room had a damp smell also no trashcan in the bathroom the next room we moved to no trashcan again in the bathroom and the toilet paper was just sitting on the top the toilet the checkout sign was missing on the back door, so I don’t know if these rooms are being checked after the housekeeping, but the staff was very polite"
