Ferry to Centre island is free, but crowded with long waits. Consider water taxi for 20 CAD round trip.

My conference was held at the Westin Harbour hotel. Excellent conference facilities. A few minutes taxi ride from where I stayed. Nice restaurants in the vicinity.
