"Hotel Maya was amazing. When we checked in, the staff was very friendly and welcoming. We were staying with family and asked to be close together which they accommodated with no problem. We had reservations at the Queen Mary for dinner and walked there in about 10 minutes. The staff told us the best way to go. It was a pretty and safe walk. There was a nice place to sit and have drinks right by our rooms in building 4. We had breakfast at Fuego which was right next to the water and a great location. We were headed to Catalina after our stay and it took us about 5-10 minutes to get to the ferry. Our beds in the room were comfortable and the AC was great! Our balcony faces the parking lot but we didn’t mind. It was very quiet. All of us loved Hotel Maya and would absolutely stay here again. "

"The location is good, the front desk person polite. However there was no queen bed in our room - which is what we had requested and paid for, we slept in a small double bed. We also needed to be switched because the bathroom was dirty (same small double beds in second room) "

"Walls are paper-thin. This would be a good option for the hearing-impaired maybe, not if you are booking a hotel to get any rest. Manager was rude, no staff on site. "

"Hotel Royal is a boutique hotel, as advertised. It is right in downtown LB so is highly walkable to nearly everything you'd like. I took the train from LAX and the station is a few blocks away; the staff is super friendly and helpful and responsive; it is a walk-up property so take that into consideration. My room was small- it was too small to fit a chair so it had no chair. I like to work on the computer in the morning so that was not ideal. I equated the room size and bathroom size to some European boutique hotels. I Ndo not know if other rooms were larger, though i suspect some are. I grabbed a bike every morning for a ride on the beach bike path- offering a free bike rental is nice, though i wish they had a simple allen wrench to adjust the seat heights; i tried to find one to given them but failed; I used the refrig in the room- always nice to have one."

"Nice staff. Good breakfast. Remote wouldn’t work channels weren’t listed . No towels at the pool. Overall price location breakfast friendly staff was a plus "
