2020. 1. 16~19일 6명이 3박을 하였습니다. 가격이 저렴한 점이 강점이고, 주변에 걸어서 3분이면 바로 해변이 있고 제대로 된 해수욕장 및 해양공원이 있어서 좋습니다. 매우 한적하고, 조용한 곳이며 새소리는 듣기 좋습니다. 힐링할 수 있는 곳입니다. 패밀리형으로 방 3개인데 2개 방에 더블 침대 2개, 반지하방에 싱글침대 2개가 있습니다. 샤워실 및 화장실 2개인 것도 쾌적하니 좋습니다. 다만...싱글침대 2개인 방은 반지하라 습기가 많아 눅눅합니다. 그래서 잠잘 때 에어컨을 계속 틀었는데.... 우리의 자랑스러운 골드스타 에어컨인데 너무 오래되서 소음이 장난이 아닙니다.ㅎㅎㅎ 바베큐 그릴도 숙박료에 포함된 것이라 힐로 KTA super store에서 티본스테이크, 등심, 채끝 등심 등을 구입해서 배터지게 소고기 먹었습니다. 스테이크 맛집에서 2명이 먹으면 18만원 정도 하는데 우덜은 6명이 15만원 정도(소고기 엄청 싸고, 버섯, 아스파라거스, 포근포근 감자 등등)으로 바베큐 파티 훌륭하게 했습니다. 예약시 패밀리형도 가격이 2인 기준이니까 참고하세요. 저희들은 4명이 추가 인원요금 지불했습니다.ㅠㅠ 일본계 미국인 60대 아저씨가 관리인이고 오너는 따로 계십니다. 아쉬운 점은... 1. 욕조 더운물이 약해서 반신욕 못 했어요. 2. 바베큐 그릴시설이 끝내주는데...석쇠 세척이 안 되어 있어서 사용하는데 용썼습니다.... 그릴 사용후에 세척을 해야되는데... - 바베큐 장소가 어두워서(전등 1개 고장) 가져간 헤드램프 사용. 3. 싱글침대 2개 있는 반지하방 에어컨 수리 또는 교체 필요. 그 외에는 추천하고 싶은 곳입니다.

여유로움과 자유로운 숙소
한적한 마을에 위치해 있으며 정원을 이용할 수 있어서 좋았다. 조식은 원하는 음식을 조리해서 먹을 수 있게 냉장고에 비치되어있다. 전반적으로 여유로움과 힐링을 할 수 있는 장소라고 생각한다.

주인 아주머니께서 굉장히 친절하셨어요. 조식도 직접 키우시는 닭이 낳은 달걀요리가 준비되어있었고, 시리얼과 각종 다양한 과일들이 준비되어있어 좋았습니다. 위치도 굉장히 좋았습니다. 힐로공항과 굉장히 밀접해있었고, 지내는 내내 마음편히 지내서 체크아웃하던 날 아침에는 기념사진도 찍었습니다. 정말 두고두고 기억하고싶어서요. 이만한 가격에 이만한 객실과 주인분은 만나기 힘든것 같아요 후기를 남기는 성격이 아님에도 불구하고 이렇게 찬양글을 쓴다는건 굉장히 만족스러웠다는거죠 ^ ^

빅아일랜드에 있으면서 코나인 힐로아웃 일정이라 힐로공항 근처의 이곳에서 하루를 묵었습니다. 친절하다는 후기를 보고 고민없이 예약했어요. 일정을 마치고 보니 밤 9시가 넘어 체크인했는데 주인 아저씨가 반갑게 맞아주셨죠. 웃는 게 인상적인 아저씨 ㅋ 친절하고 좋았어요. 동양계쪽 분이신 느낌~ 그리고 다음 날 꼭 근처의 힐로베이 해변에 가보라고 추천해주셨어요. 걸어서 5분? 가보세요~ 아침에 식사하고 산책겸 가기 좋아요~숙소는 솔직히 좀 그냥..^^:; 우리돈으로 9만원 가량이었는데 우리나라 민박집으로 보시면 돼요. 대신 침대 있고 화장실 딸린 민박집.ㅎ 그래도 아침에 식사도 제공되니 그런대로 나쁘진 않았어요.^^

가격도 저렴하고.... 힐로공항에서 엄청 가까워요~ 힐로공항과 5분 정도 거리라서 거리도 넘 가까워서 좋구요~ 주인아저씨도 넘 친절하고 좋았어요~~ 아침식사가 원래 셀프로 제공되는거였는데.... 저희 부부를 위해 손수 식사를 마련해주셨더라구요~ 아침에 일어나서 부엌에 가보니 저를 위한 거라고 메모까지 남겨서... 밥과 계란스크램블, 소세지, 과일을 준비해주셔서 정말 감동 받았어요~

We paid $162 per night. The previous week we had stayed in an absolutely beautiful 9th floor condo in downtown Hilo for $160. We booked Aaron's cottage thru Expedia and it did not say shared kitchen nor did it say in the description. When we got there the kitchen was disgusting - dirty greasy dishes, etc. It also smelled of old grease. Someone really needs to thoroughly clean it. Also, in back of the building there was junk and garbage laying around. The smoke alarms in our room were missing and there was supposed to be a snack pack. All we got was water and coffee. The shower did not have a surround so everything in the bathroom was wet. The bed linens smelled horribly of whatever detergent was used. I think The place was worthy of $60/night. So disappointing! The one good thing is that the bed was comfortable.

I think you’re judging our place unfairly you stayed one night you’re in cottage number two that’s the one we only rent for people that pay for one night if you enjoy a hotel so much, she should literally stay at hotels and not go to cottages and maybe if you do try a cottage try to stay more than one night. Sorry that you’re so unhappy maybe next time you enjoy your stay a little bit more when you actually stay at a place longer than five hours and then sleep. .

It was very relaxing staying at Aaron's Cottages. The bed was comfortable for a good sleep. While the room hadbits own coffe maker there was a community kitchen that you could use to make youf own meals. Overall a good experience.

I love having access to a kitchen and laundry, plus proximity to the sweet little features on this side of Hilo. It would be nice to have a comfortable sitting chair in the room, and a better place to hang clothing.

I enjoyed my stay at Aaron’s Cottage. I especially loved having access to a kitchen so I didn’t need to eat out for every meal! It was clean, comfortable, simple, and cute. I would stay here again.

Great place to stay.
Excellent stay. I did have trouble with the code to the door that was left for me. But the Owner/Mgr. took care of that within minutes. If anything was negative was that dang rooster!!! Woke me up every day between 430-630Am. (but I did notice that the whole state has wild roosters, and chickens running around, so not the fault of Aarons Cottage's). Room was great, very quiet (only 5 of 10 rooms), clean, room looked just like the photos minus the floor fan. It had everything, I had everything I needed, and it was as advertised! Great location close to everything, yet far enough from the Hussle and Bussle. Price was great, and I would stay here again.

Price was lower, but you get what you pay for. Bathroom faucet barely gave water & there were bugs in the room, but otherwise clean. Manager was responsive & apologetic & promised to fix things when we left. However, nice location with Secret Beach walkable at the end of the street! Rowdy rooster comes free of charge, so bring your background noise app.

Hello good morning unfortunately I just read your review that you left for us. I was very unhappy this morning after I saw that you left us 2 out of a five. I wish we could’ve done something better for you not to leave such a bad review how your faucet didn’t work I guess that really knocked down our score pretty good, and you said the price was low but you get what you pay for. I really didn’t appreciate that at all. We keep our price low trying to give people a respectable value for Hawaii. But I guess you don’t see it that way they see it as you wrote it you get what you pay for….

We booked a 2-bed but arrived to a 1 bed so we had to pay the extra (with a bit of a discount for the mixup--Hotel still probably would have been a more affordable option if i had known but it was non refundable). Toilet didn’t work unless we manually pushed the valve to refill the tank each time. But we did have access to a washer and dryer, which was nice. Loved that the beach was in walking distance and the deck at the end of the night was lovely.

Thank you for staying with us. We appreciate your review, but you should be honest and let them know that you had six people when you indicated that only two people were going to be in the room. Luckily we had another room that an accommodate all your people you did not care to mention which is impossible to put that many people in the room he reserved. We gave you a discount on moving you to a different room which we thought you’d be happy about but instead you leave us a bad review, you should stop and rethink this.

Inside the college was a small cable that’s OK but gave me too hard chairs that are folding up chairs very uncomfortable. Do you have Roku TV so I had to use my cell phone to watch movies?

Sorry, did not enjoy your stay. I wish you contacted me. We would love to try to make it better for you. Sorry that you’re unhappy. Hope you have the wonderful new year. By the way the Roku you just go onto the spectrum app, which is all explained on the laminated paper in there how to use suspect your map we don’t choose to do it that way, but you could think the cable company on having a monopoly in Hawaii and that’s the only way people could watch local TV. Once they gone to digital, they control everything now.

Aaron's cottage at Hilo
Check in was seamless. There's a door lock and a key code. Nevertheless, the backdoor is a sliding glassdoor and remains unlocked. Owner, Robert is responsive and a property manager, Jumo lives on the property, who's is also friendly. Guests can use laundry. Property has orange and lemon trees and the owner is generous for you to taste some fresh fruits. There's a community kitchen wherein travelers leave stuff that you can use, if not expired. You get some coffee bags, no creamers and no sugar even after requests. Towels aren't replaced and room isn't cleaned everyday but it wasn't an issue for me. There's no cabinet in the bathroom. Plenty of parking. Quiet and safe location close to the Hilo beaches. You'll see lizards and roaches but it's part of the nature, especially in older buildings. Room itself is spacious and comfortable although you may feel a bit cold since the windows don't fully close. Volcano National Park is only 45 minutes drive away. You may probably find Airbnb entire apartments in this price range though, if you plan ahead. This cottage though has a nice rustic feel and is only 10 minutes drive away from the Hilo airport. I initially booked for two nights and extended by another two nights since I could drive around most of the big island from here.

Sadly, best of the three hotels I stayed at. Avoid Wild Ginger at all costs! This was just a a room. Biggest issue was the common kitchen area attached to the room. Noisy early. Less airport noise here. Cool cove down the street. No real issues.

Very sweet cottage. The bed was so comfortable with pretty quilts and a ceiling fan. I got in late, but it was so easy to use the electronic lock on the door. Fruit tree in the front. I didn't use the communal kitchen but I was glad it was there. Extra towels in a basket, coffee and coffee maker. Love the two bottles of water in the fridge.

Great cottage as a home base for Big Island touring. Close to airport and services like gas and grocery (walmart) and Kens Pancake House. Did not have a washrag so had to buy one but no big deal. Comfy bed mattresses in queen double #8. Good pillows. Has provided coffee maker and soap provided in shower with pumps. Communal Kitchenette in separate structure with all amenities. Could use some fresh paint from bumps and nicks on corners and trim but not bad; just regular use. AC blows could to dehumidify if needed. Tree peepers/frogs are quite present but I enjoyed their sound from dusk until dawn. Ample parking and easy to get in and out. Walls are a little thin so please be conscious of neighbours during quiet hours. No problems with our stay. If you want a Hilo stay without big crowds, Aarons Cottage fits the bill. Its all you without the hassle of people and crowds at a hotel.

There were 2 walkable beaches and it is located close to the airport. The community kitchen was convenient. The walls are a bit thin so you can hear neighbors. The staff was helpful.

The manager was very helpful. He had fresh fruit for us very day. Oranges, limes and tangerines. The room and kitchen was very clean. We had to use the washer and dryer at a different unit but it was just across the driveways
