Pretty average stay. The carpet was very stained and the room was not the cleanest. Can’t see out the windows or open them. Small room. Very close to two stations so good for getting around and only 15 minutes walk to America Mura, 20 to dontonburi. The app worked well for check in and check out. Can store your bags before and after your stay.

Here's a rewritten version: The staff was excellent and very helpful. One evening, no staff members were on duty, and I couldn't access my room because the keypad had stopped working. I ended up sleeping on the lobby couch, and the staff kindly woke me the next morning to help me get back into my room. They opened the digital keypad and replaced the batteries, which solved the problem completely. The room could have been slightly cleaner, and I had assumed all Japanese toilets came with bidets—I was mistaken about that. Overall though, it was a great value for the price. Thank you!

Nara's near proximity to the cities of Kyoto and Osaka makes it an easy side trip in anyone's Kansai itinerary. And although most people come to Nara for the roaming (but tame) deers and the historical temples, Nara park offers a lot of hidden gems that I would recommend devoting a whole day to enjoy a trip to Japan's first permanent capital. .
