The Jardin des plantes, also known as the jardin des plantes de Paris when distinguished from other jardins des plantes in other cities, is the main botanical garden in France. . It was designed and planted by Guy de La Brosse, the physician of the king in 1626 as a medicinal herb garden for King Louis XIII. . Paris’ 24-hectare botanic gardens – visually defined by the double alley of plane trees that run the length of the park – are an idyllic spot to stroll around, break for a picnic (watch out for the automatic sprinklers!) and escape the city concrete for a spell. Lovely modern room for 3. Friendly staff. Breakfast wasn’t loads of option some hot and cold things but it was enough for our stay. Lovely central location easy to get to a lot and not too far from the airport and tourist attractions. Would stay again.
