“I stayed at Carus Green for one night with my 12 year old daughter. Our twin room was welcoming, comfortable and clean with a fantastic bathroom. We arrived late due to travelling from the South, but easily collected our keys and accessed our room. Reception staff easily fitted us in for breakfast and staff within the bar/restaurant were friendly and professional. As the hotel...
“The reception area and fitness suite are newly renovated, but the rooms are a very different story. The rooms are incredibly dated and furnishings are very tired. The beds were thin so you could feel the springs, the TV was very old and the ironing board was torn up. The bathroom is particular is in desperate need of a refresh, while it was clean, the sink and showers were very old. Towels were very old and were stained.
Positives are the location is great - very close to high street and train...
“The room was clean, but in need of some TLC. The lights did work, when the receptionist was told she came fiddled with the light bulbs, eventually they came back on. Once turned off they would not come back on. Very much felt that was an issue the hotel knew about, but had not fixed.
The staff at breakfast were not welcoming. When the breakfast came the bacon and black pudding were not fully cooked. The sausage was poor quality and very peppery.
Rather disappointing.
Will not be staying again.”

All that being said the room was clean and the bed . In the shower room there is a small towel rail but only big enough for hand towels,we had to drape the wet bath towels over the shower door....
