“Friendly and helpful staff, along with a decent dinner menu in the bar were the highlights. Skimpy breakfast with awful coffee. Room was dated. Pancake pillows. Cramped shower. Walls are thin and could hear neighbors’ phone alarms and opening/closing room doors all morning. Unable to sleep after 5am. Dinner in the restaurant was fully booked by a large group when checking in. Would not stay here again.”

“La camera era molto accogliente, confortevole e pulita, le persone davvero molto gentili, ci hanno fatto sentire a casa. Il lodge è una bella struttura immersa nel verde, offre una colazione super abbondante e con ingredienti di qualità in una lounge che ha la vista sul verde. A 10 minuti di auto c'è una taverna (Applecross Inn) dove fare un'ottima cena a base di pesce freschissimo.”

“Das Hotel ist recht schlecht gepflegt und es fühlt sich trotz superwetters feucht an. Im Restaurant schaut man leider auf den Parkplatz und nicht auf das Meer. Auch war es recht hektisch, ständige Anreisen vo. Besuchern und noch zudem auf Koes sorgten für Unruhe. Insgesamt für knapp 500 Euro die Nacht sehr unverhältnismäßig teuer.”

“This is a great hotel and would stay there again. Only complaint is pictures on expedia do not match the assigned room. Example, we booked a room with a clawfoot bathtub that also had more windows. The front desk staff acknowledged the pictures do not match the rooms. Overall, great property.”

“Good stay. The hotel was very well located, just a couple minutes from the railway station. And my room had an incredible view across the Sound of Sleat to the Isles of Eigg, Rum and Skye!! Cleanliness of the room and hotel were excellent and the room was in great condition. However, my top floor room was in a converted attic: while this provided the outstanding vistas, after a warm summer day the room was extremely hot at night with only a small window that opened partially (the roof tiles...

“For this level of stay I would expect shampoo and conditioner in the shower, face cloths, selection of tea (not just loose bags pushed in a cannister) and better blackout curtains. Having said that we had a lovely room with fabulous view.”

“Lovely cosy cottage called “The Wee Cottage”. It was not so “wee” and was exactly as described with a direct view on the harbour. Perfect spot to do our Skye tour and then conveniently leave east the next morning!”

“We stayed 5 nights at the hotel as part of our Scottish holiday celebrating our 40th wedding anniversary. We couldn’t fault anything about the hotel. The staff were super attentive and helpful, the food was absolutely delicious and the room was lovely. The location was fantastic although the weather put paid to any chance we had of sitting in the grounds. If you get the opportunity to stay at the Glenfinnan House Hotel then do take it. An absolutely wonderful get away location.”

The room is up a set of outside stairs just above the restaurant, which has a nice variety of options on the menu. We enjoyed our stay both on the way to Canna and overnight on the return.”
