A nice beach right on the lake. On staffer was cleaning outside, she noticed us taking pictues in front of a rainbow and offered to take our family picture. We had an issue with the toilet handle and it was replaced quickly. It was a good family environment, within walking distance of the shops. The boys taking care of the water activities could be happier and friendlier.

We had a great stay at Surfside. It was close to walk into the village. The water sports were fun, they have pedal boats, paddle boats and kayaks to use. I was disappointed there was a mandatory $50 additional fee for them that should be included in the reservation rate. The private beach was great other than it wasn't picked up, there was garbage around and people left their belongings scattered and nobody fixed the chairs after it closed so when we arrived in the morning it wasn't "ready" for guests as you would redirect. The food in both resistant was great and prices were reasonable. Overall it was a great stay and we enjoyed it.

The property was very well maintained and the room was also well maintained and clean. The reservation stated a view of the lake and it was a partial view which I expected. Overall...Nice. The reason I'm writing this review is to what happened on the 1st night/early morning of our stay. Around 5am the fire alarm woke us up! We could smell burning (plastic?) no smoke yet, but proceeded to evacuate the building. We waited outside for First Responders after my husband and the staff called 911. After they arrived, extinguished the fire, and cleared the building, Kris from the office found us and apologized. She let us know that the room would be "comped" for the night and set us up in a different building with an even better room. The rest of our stay was wonderful. We loved the new room better than the one that we originally booked! Thanks Kris!! When we make reservations to return to the Surfside next year....we will definitely be booking the better room, funny how things work out😊 Thanks again M. Bonestell

Rooms are super spacious ridiculously clean. The staff is amazing. The location is super convenient close to everything. The pool was clean and awesome. The lake/beach was amazing. They have bar poolside. They have restaurants. It’s just overall amazing. I have been coming to Lake George for several years and we continuously come back to the Surfside resort. They never let us down. We had such an amazing time and we are so excited to come back again and again and again and again.

The family suite was spacious and slept 6 comfortably. The balcony had a great view of the lake and the pool. The "kitchen" in the room left much to be desired, which is clearly why no pictures were included in the room description. We had some pots, pans, and dishes, but one spoon, 3 forks, and a butter knife....for 6 people to use. There were no paper products in the kitchen nor dish towels, however the staff provided a few extra utensils and towels upon request. Although the property was nice, we had to wake up at 4:45 am to a fire alarm. We understand that accidents happen, and an actual fire occurred; however, my family and the 4 other occupants of said lodge were left sitting on the curb waiting for over an hour while 6 fire trucks arrived and surveyed the scene. We finally found someone who worked for the hotel to give us blankets (because it was 48 degrees and my kids were in jammies), and we ultimately had to firmly request another room in one of the other buildings to allow our 4 kids to get back to bed....1.5 hours later. Following this incident, the staff was less than pleasant and relatively inflexible with regards to us collecting our belongings from the building. They agreed to comp the room for the last night we were there, and agreed to email our receipt from the stay....I am still waiting on that receipt 36 hours later.
