"Considering how crowded Machu Picchu Pueblo is, this hotel’s location is great. It may be right next to the train tracks, but at least it’s flat and there isn’t constant foot traffic. Anywhere in this town will be noisy - either from the trains or the river.
Pros- staff will meet you at the train station to escort you to the hotel.(A very wonderful surprise). Friendly staff. Good breakfast selection. If you don’t see something, just ask. Good sized rooms.
Cons- needs updating. The bathtub/shower is a bit scary to use since you need to use a step stool to climb into the tall tub. It also has a significant downward slope for drainage. Older folks will need to be extra cautious getting in and out. The Ecco setting is nice unless u want the mini frig to stay cold. The power turns off when the room key is removed from the slot.
I was a little surprised they didn’t offer help with luggage when we checked out. We would have asked if we really needed help but we should have been asked considering this is a “nicer” hotel."
