โI came to Hacienda Roman knowing that in this part of Peru, you can't expect all the amenities like WiFi, cable TV, etc. If you go in with reasonable expectations, you'll be happy with this hotel.
The pros: Staff are quite nice. Food is tasty and available fresh on site. Personal attention, especially the tour of the coffee/jungle out back, is phenomenal. The entire stay was worth it just for this!!
The cons: Cooking is unbelievably slow; it took us no less than 1.5 hours to finish a meal...

โSuper convenient to visit Machu Picchu. We had very early departures both days and they provided box breakfast the night before so we could take them with us. They also stored our luggage on our departure day while we did our hike. Super helpful and friendly, good value, clean room. Highly recommend. โ
โGreat room, hot shower with great pressure, great breakfast included, friendly staff, and they held our backs safe while we did Machu Picchu. No complaints! โ
โImmediately upon walking into the hotel, we were greeted by the friendly staff providing coca tea for our light altitude sickness. There was air conditioning as well as great water pressure in the shower. The hotel sits along the train tracks so be sure to reserve a river view room for a little more quietnessโ

โOur trip to Machu Picchu brought us to this property. We wanted to reach a day early to rest up for an early morning appointment. We had a child who wasn't feeling great. The staff went above and beyond to help us feel comfortable. They also stored our luggage even after we checked out, so we could visit Machu Picchu without having to carry them all the way.
