"The airport shuttle was awful, since despite it being a reason I stayed there, my early flight required me to be picked up for the airport at 3 am, and the shuttle doesn't start until 6 am!!! And the promised front desk wake-up call scheduled at 2:15 am never happened; good thing I set my own alarm. My "free shuttle" turned out to cost me $35 for a cab. The room was average, housekeeping did an OK job of cleaning, and the downtown neighborhood got very sketchy within blocks. It was near the harbor, which was good, and I did get a voucher to tour the USS Midway WWII aircraft carrier. Overall, fair to average. My experience with Marriott this year has been poor; this is the third time I've had problems with a Marriott-owned hotel: (1) on Orange Beach on the Alabama gulf coast where I was in a wedding; an on-line reservation to stay in a Panama City, Panama hotel only to have it not go through on-line; and now this mediocre experience. Hyatt and Hilton, here I come!"

"I paid so much money to get nice city view. That's why i chose this hotel over other hundreds of hotel in city but i the room i got had no few at all. It says 6th floor which includes 2-3 floors of basement. Very very disappointed. No more visits to this hotel. Parking was hassle. "

"Ash&9th was a good hotel in the downtown SD area. Staff was helpful. I worked w Mark last minute to request an early check in, and he accommodated my request for a fee of $40 which was not bad at all. The room was as large as my 250sq ft apt. It was big! The room was very clean. It came w a micro, mini fridge, and coffee maker. I attempted to watch TV, but the Direct TV satellite was giving an error notification so I gave up. The room also came w a wireless charging alarm clock. The bed was a king sized bed, very clean and comfy. Bathroom had a rainfall showerhead and communal body wash, shampoo, and conditioner in the shower. The only suggestion I would make is for a little shelf in the shower to put my own toiletries on, and a shower hook. But those were negligible suggestions and easy to overlook. The maintenance staff was so nice as well, and accommodated my request for extra trash bags for my room. There is also a little mini snack shop in the lobby. If you're walking, be aware the hotel is on a hill. So there is an uphill climb to get to it. All in all, it was a good stay."

"The room was very nice and the staff accommodating! We went for a quick bachelorette weekend with 5 women. There was plenty of space for us and the location was ideal. Other than not enough mirror and garbage cans, it was perfect. 10/10 recommend and would definitely return. "
