While the Riad was great and cozy... it was way TOO cozy. The owner was there ALL the time, and was very curious about my partner and our relationship (we're married). Being gay in Morocco is not legal - we could have gone to jail for years if we run into the wrong person, and the owner kept asking about our relationship. Not a nice feeling at all.
Also, the room (Ivory) was lovely decorated, but you couldn't make a noise without having everyone hear you. The window looks to the inner patio, and the owners and staff were all the time in the common areas, enjoying the hotel... so there was no room for a guest to enjoy it him/herself.
Great for friends, but a definitive NO for a couple's retreat. Too invading, no privacy at all.
