"We stayed for 4 nights and loved being in close walking proximity of Little Italy, the harbor, Seaport Village & Gaslamp Quarter. We took rideshares to Balboa Park & Mission Beach. Needless to say, we met our step goals everyday. Note: when walking off properly it's important to exit through the gate and down the steps, to the street to cross at the light. The hotel could do a better job of keeping the gate step area clean, bird poo everywhere. Also be advised, the hotel only cleans the room after the 3rd night. I had to check with the desk about that early afternoon. They did clean the room very well while we were out to lunch but hadn't quite finished when we returned so we hung out in the lobby for a few minutes. The housekeeper came down to let us know when they were done...she was very sweet & professional. The morning we left we had buffet breakfast in the hotel restaurant for an added $20/person, it was tasty with plenty of variety. My only complaint is no decaf coffee available in the hotel lobby or restaurant. We walked to the Chevron station across the street to get decaf daily. The hotel was VERY busy that final Thursday morning with people coming & going and only 2 elevators to serve 16 floors. Everyone was friendly & patient. Lots of international folks, and families as well as Navy service men & women. Overall a very nice stay and wonderful location!"

"Lovely room, very comfortable and clean. Ice machine and canteen lounge conveniently located. Because I was traveling with a short in stature 92 year old with mobility issues, I was in an ADA room. I notified the front desk that the tall platform bed was not easy to get into for her and requested a step stool or any other device to assist her. They said they would check with facilities but never got back to me. We piled the pillows on the floor in lieu of a step stool. That worked. The other issue was that the original reservation through Expedia did not state that their was an additional $20 for parking. Lastly, the vending machines with soft drinks and other snacks were not labeled with prices. I swiped my card and held my breath. Gratefully, they only charged $5 per bottled soft drink and $5 per ice cream cone. Overall, I do recommend staying at this hotel."

"The motel changed hands was subsequently remodeled. The walkways could use some repainting and the threshold around the elevator doors. As for the room itself, it was clean. Some of the furniture shows signs of wear. The drain in the shower is slow and doesn't drain fast enough for the shower head, do expect to be standing in water unless you shut off the water now and then. It may just be room #303 that I rented. The check-in clerk was super nice and has some big plans for his future. Best of luck to him!"
