"Bedroom was very clean and the bed/mattress was clean and comfortable. Looked as if recently done up?
Bathroom and shower except no shaver point. I found the sink shelf in the way of using the sink.
Public areas looked a bit tired in places.
Breakfast was buffet style with a good selection of cereals and fruit and berries. Hot food had all the usual sections and was hot."
"We have stayed here several times although on this visit we felt there was a different atmosphere. Reception staff were very efficient and yet seemed less approachable. We usually enjoy the breakfast but this time it was really not worth the extra we paid for it as things like fruit and croissants ran out and weren’t replaced. The coffee machine also stopped working.
The gym staff were very friendly and the workout equipment was good although the jacuzzi was out of action and the changing rooms needed a good clean. Maybe it was just a bad couple of days. We’d stay again for convenience but wouldn’t bother with the breakfast."
"This was my first solo trip on my birthday, and the staff were very helpful and kind, and the room was wonderfully cosy. I would highly recommend anyone going, and I will be returning again soon. The hotel is literally in the heart of Bakewell and close to Chatsworth House. Parking: I would recommend going to the bridge car park nearby, as it has overnight parking and reasonable priced."
