If you get a chance to stay here - I highly recommend it. The onsen is beautiful, but the staff and ambiance make it one of my favorite trips of all time.

"Very nice room overlooking the river, sound of frogs and water running all night. Beautiful. Interesting Japanese menu for breakfast and dinner, great to try something new. Staff was very kind and friendly. Everything was amazing and memorable."

"Very special property that we loved. We stayed in January and esp loved the onsen and subfloor heating. Check in was easy enough because there was the option of online pre-registration. The road to the house was windy but not too bad - note that the GPS in the rental car may not show you the way. ..."

Kurokawa Onsen town is fairly unremarkable compared to the other top 10 Onsen towns we been to in Japan. Yumerindo was a huge disappointment and the worst hotel of our 3 week trip to Japan.
