BEST location, not bad stay but not excellent also
PROS 1)Safe and affordable location (5 mins walk from Times Square and Central Park, MoMA is 1 block away and Subway station has 3 different train lines right next to the hotel) 2)Nice and clean facilities 3)Good view (Central Park view covered by other buildings on north side) 4)Strong enough shower head water pressure 5)Big closet, ironing board and electric ironing machine offered 6)Room windows are openable (limitedly) 7)Many kind employees on duty 8)Deli shop just across the street CONS 1)No fridge in rooms (you can pay per days if you request for one) 2)No global electricity outlet, you must prepare a global adapter 3)Destination fee is not in option, you cannot choose to pay or not 4)Big conferences are held frequently and many airline crews are staying, the lobby and lifts get quite crowded many times 5)No electric pot provided (only a coffee machine only fits coffee capsule provided 2 a day from the hotel) TIPS 1)They hold a $150.00 deposit from your credit card and it is not included in your destination fee 2)Free Wi-Fi is included in your destination fee

Old hotel, but ideally located, it does the job!
Don't be fooled by the Sheraton name, this hotel has seen better days. Its location is excellent, but the rooms need refurbishment. But NYC being so expensive, one could say you get your money's worth. The hotel staff is quite helpful.

The room condition is just soso. Its clean but old. Reception peoples are so kind and nice. Great location, but pretty quiet at night.

Great Location
Great Location, walking distance to the Times Square, Central Park, MoMA, and many other places. Parking is expensive, and they charge destination fee, which is quite a lot, although it can be used at dining. Clean and kind, convenient place to stay.

Great location but uncomfortable bed.
I've stayed here 4 nights. Location was great, walking distance to Central parks and Times square. You cannot use the refrigerator as it's already packed with drinks and you are not allowed to open it. kinda weird. Slippers are provided if you request. Bed was not comfortable, you can literally feel 100% of your buddy's movement in the bed. Complementary bottle of water can you picked up at the lobby. Some comments here says the wifi is paid service. But it was free for me. Before I logged on the wifi, I asked the front and told it was free.

I liked the fact that they had separate elevators that went to different sets of floors and we never had to wait a long time for an elevator.

It is on 7th avenue, 1 block off Broadway & a 10–15 minute easy walk to any Broadway show and Times Square. Subway & busses all around. Only a few blocks from Rockefeller Ctr & 5th avenue shopping. The hotel has a ‘resort fee’ but they give you $30 night as compensation for you to use in restaurants. We got breakfast for 2 each morning in the cafe. They also have the smart elevators where you input the floor you’re going to & it tells you which elevator is for you. This saves so much time as the elevator does not stop on random floors.

We were charged a destination fee but could use it for hotel purchases and when we went to use it for breakfast we were told it had to be used the day of check in so we lose all of that money. No one mentioned this to us at check in. Overall the room was a bit dingy and dirty, would not stay again.

The property is great for location...can walk everywhere at any time. Subway right beside it and Metro very convenient for going around Manhattan and out of the city. However, the property looks older so the rooms are not as modern as newer hotels. There are some things in the room that needed to be fixed and/or updated.

Terrible service and cleanliness. About service: when I called front desk to ask for chopsticks or a spoon, I was told “No! We don’t have any room service!” Is it because I mentioned chopsticks and recognized as Chinese and being discriminated?? As for the cleanliness, there was a bug flying in the room, short hairs in the sink. The stay in this hotel was a nightmare.

Il peggior soggiorno a New York! Hotel 4 Stelle? Non penso proprio… Riassumo: 1. Il personale più indisposto e “RUDE” della penisola. Onestamente ho visitato Manhattan 5 volte e non ho mai trovato un personale più antipatico e maldisposto di questo. Non 1 o 2, non se ne salva nessuno dello staff, dal bar alla reception. Un epopea per ottenere 2 cuscini e 2 ciabatte, circa 4 giorni e 3 operatori diversi per ottenerle: roba da matti. 2. Senza preavviso ti caricano sulla carta pagamenti da 400$ al giorno. 400$ il primo, 440$ il secondo e 480$ il terzo. Per fortuna sono sceso in reception a far scollegare la carta prima che mi prosciugassero il conto o che la banca mi bloccasse la carta per tentata truffa (come già successo). Quindi vi consiglio di essere chiari fin dall’inizio. 3. Servizio in camere totalmente INESISTENTE. 4. Il giorno del check-out se avete il volo nel pomeriggio e volete lasciare i bagagli in hotel per un ultimo giro in città.. *rullo di tamburi* c’è da pagare anche lì! Una cosa così non l ho mai sentita. 5. Non c’è il FRIGO IN CAMERA!!! Oh my god! 6. Solo nei primi 4 giorni sono partiti 2 allarmi anti-incendio con tanto di sirena in camera, discesa al piano 0 nel bel mezzo della notte dalle scale di emergenza. Per poi risalire ore dopo che i pompieri arrivassero a fare NULLA, dato che erano tutti falsi allarmi, con gli ascensori sovra affollati da gente nel panico e assonnata. 7. ASCIUGAMANI SPORCHI DI C*CCA di altri!!!!!!!!! Da vomito! MAI PIÙ

My arrival at the hotel was early morning. I had booked the room to be available from the previous night. But when I arrived at the hotel, they didn’t have my room. I had even sent them a message regarding my late arrival. The staff was not courteous in dealing with this matter.

We liked that it was in Times Square but it wasn’t as crowded as it was in the “epicenter” of Times Square. Great breakfast. Fast and easy check-in.

So convenient to everything. 5 minutes to Times Square but far enough outside if you want to avoid the madness. Extremely convenient to most of the theaters. And only a 10 minute walk to our favorite place to grab a burger & beer (Seans Bar & Kitchen) in NYC.

They charged for internet, which isn’t fair and they have a city tax service fee where they make you spend 30 bucks at their restaurant.

My stay at the Sheraton wasn't a bad one until it came to checkout time. I was promised a $30 credit if dining was at one of their selected places. They charge you for the full $30 plus taxes and fees with the promise that they will credit the money back to you after they complete their processing, which "may take a couple days". I ate at one of their designated spots twice, spending more than the required amount, submitted my room number per the instructions and still, over a month later, even after 3 calls to the hotel, I have not received my money back. It's certainly not about the $30 ; it's about the integrity and honesty in their advertising. I definitely would have dined somewhere else in NY rather than at their mediocre chosen establishments. This is such a ridiculous run-around and simply for this, I would not recommend staying here.
