“Well the hotel is pleasant and characterful. The heating was stuck on in the room with only a small window to open. Unbearable poor nights sleep. On complaining nothing could be done apparently so we were moved to another room. Which was much better. ”

“Logistically superb - lots of walks, beach, at low tide you can go rock pooling etc. Bus stop right outside - which when the weather isn't great is a useful option to get around. There are small bus routes that loop certain areas - and you get a running commentary so worth jumping on. Hotel is fabulous - views are amazing, food is delicious, and good value, room were exceptional (you must like the sound of the sea) and the staff are kind, informative and go above and beyond. ”

“My stay here was an amazing experience. The restaurant offered service on par with what you would expect from a hotel, and the staff were exceptionally friendly and made a lasting impression. While the cleanliness of the room and the lack of transportation options could be considered minor downsides, the room quality was still reasonable given the price. Since I was already aware of the isolated location, it wasn't an issue for me.”

“Everything is excellent! The room is beautifully equipped, with superbly comfortable bed, brilliant shower, decent size bath and good Wi-fi. All staff in the pub were friendly and served us with good humour at breakfast, lunch or dinner. Food was brilliant (we ate there every night). Location was just what we were after, small village with no shops, but easy driving distance from larger centres. Plenty of walking trails nearby. Highly recommended.”

“Very pleasantly surprised by the well presented hotel, designed to be in keeping with it's original features intact, along with more quirky elements in the decor. The lounge was very comfortable and spacious, and felt like we had stepped back in time to the nineteen twenties. The food was excellent, both as the main meal and the included breakfast, which was a broad menu. “Great location for walking to Cowes centre and for the chain ferry to East Cowes. Comfortable room although very hot and impossible to turn the one radiator (in bedroom) off. Decent breakfast although some of the cooked items could have been hotter. Overall I would recommend and be happy to stay again. ”
