"The room (castle) was great, the hotel had tons of character , food amazing and the staff could not be more helpful. We were originally going to stay in Frome then seen this hotel - we would without hesitation recommend. A fantastic find."

"First impression was worn out star carpet but then walked on excellent carpet in corridors. Bedroom spacious and well equipped but chair with plain wooden seat not very comfotable. Bathroom very good but the 'stylish' basin taps handles are nearly round, making them difficult for older/weaker hands. No lift."

Staff also willing to think about and respect my wish to not be referred to as a “guy” NB By way of explanation for anyone who may be wondering about this … Although “guys” is often considered and said to be a generic term, it isn’t! It is masculine. It’s no more generic than the use of the term “girls or women” would be. And, its frequent use to address females as “guys” renders us, the feminine, invisible; something that some of us have long sought to address in language.
