Pinckney Island National Wildlife Refuge, Hilton Head Island hotel rooms at the Independent

Very pleasant stay

The room was very clean and this hotel is very convenient to the Beaufort area. We have stayed at this facility numerous times and found the staff extremely friendly and the buffet breakfast is definitely a plus.

Price for the stay. Super clean and rooms were spacious but bathroom is a bit on the small side. The staff wasn’t friendly at check in and the gym needs major upgrades. The gym was extremely hot, the treadmill didn’t incline, there were no free weights, and the weight machine was broken and rigged up for guests to use which is unsafe.

Stayed here to attended marine graduation from Paris Island. Easy ride to marine base, plenty of places to eat at and everyone is friendly. Try facility staff was attentive and polite.

Alittle older hotel but Hands down cleanest and best kept hotel I’ve stayed at. I am super picky about that so that says a lot! They put 3 sets of sheets on the beds and you can feel it’s clean and comfy! Lovely breakfast area and great staff!!

Arrived earlier than expected and was allowed to check in a little early, which was great. Staff was very friendly and helpful. Was pleased with the room, and the bed was very comfortable. The room looked clean and smelled fresh, and it wasn't until I was getting ready for bed that I pulled the spread down and found 2 candy bar wrappers on the floor up next to the bottom of the bed. Although the rest of the room had been fine, this led me to believe that the room hadn't been cleaned as it should...

Staff members were very Helpful and Clean Rooms. Breakfast was a good assortment of choices .

Here now. Mini suite is larger than expected, very clean but noise from AC was loud at times. Staff was great. Very clean. Unfortunately it rained so we didn’t get to use the pool but it was pretty clean and decent size. Nice outdoor deck to have breakfast on when its not raining. Definitely would stay here again. Not much parking. I had to park in the back lot one night. I know you cannot do anything about that. The ice machine did not work on my floor. I had a blinking light in the bathroom. I told them at the desk and they told maintenance and it was fixed immediately. The staff as very friendly and attentive. I would definitely stay here again

Location, Location, Location! Walk to the beach. Walk to restaurants. Walk to shop and groceries. HOWEVER: I originally chose you for your pictures of your pool. Your page states nothing about it being closed for the season. We're near the Canadian border and motels have OUTDOOR HEATED POOLS IN THE WINTER! You have no excuse. GOOGLE: Polar Plunge. People cut holes in the ice of Lake Superior and dive in!

The room was clean and I remove sheets and look under mattresses and couch cushions ... I was glad to see that they apparently clean in these areas too. I always check the room for bedbugs and have a blue lamp and infrared meter to test for mold and bio sediment on all surfaces. I am a commercial inspector but I don't tell the hotels I stay at, because I don't want to be bothered, unless theres a problem. Although no place I stay can ever be perfect, This place was definitely one of the best...

Great property, easy to get in and out of. Helpful front desk staff and delicious breakfast included. The only downside was that it was not a true suite (meaning there was no separate bedroom) but the room was spacious enough to accomodate our family of 4. We would definitely stay here again.

It is a great hotel option on the water. My family and I have made it a point to visit yearly since the birth of our kids.
