It costs £5 per night if you book through a third party like Expedia, which you have to pay on arrival, whereas it’s free if you book directly through Ibis. “Room was clean, a good size and well appointed. There is no airconditioning though and when we stayed it was quite warm and uncomfortable to sleep. A fan is provided however it is loud. It was disappointing be informed at check-in and not at any point earlier that the gym is £20 more. Lots of parking and the staff are nice too. ”

“Super friendly and helpful staff more than make up for any shortcomings at this place. Personally I found the wonkiness of the building rather endearing and there was plenty of free parking. No food at the hotel but a selection of options delivered through Deliveroo and other apps and cutlery and plates provided in each room. Decor is a bit dated but there are hot showers and beds are comfortable.”

“Our stay was a journey down memory lane for me. The hotel was still lovely and popular, the room was clean and albeit small as a twin, it was in keeping with such a historic building and the lady on the bar, who checked us in couldn’t be more welcoming. The kitchen even catered amazingly for a veggie and a vegan option breakfast. The hotel is centrally located for the beautiful village of Eyam’s history trail, tea rooms and local walks with good parking facilities. ”

No complementary water in rooms, bar closed in morning so unable to get any refreshments. Thin duvet on bed and rock hard pillows but the location sold our stay there.”
