"This review is for the Hotel Continental’s sister hotel, Hotel Grand Savoia, as we were upgraded to that hotel before arriving in Genoa. Check-in was seamless, the room was very well appointed with a super comfortable bed, and service was top notch. We almost missed checkout and our noon train departure time due to sleeping two hours later than planned due to the comfort and darkness (blackout shades) of the hotel room. This hotel, as well as the Continental, are steps away from the main train terminal in Genoa, and an easy walk to the terminal. We would definitely stay again if traveling through Genoa."

Hotel Laurin

"Santa Margherita is beautiful and almost as nice as Sestri Levante. Hotel Laurin sits in a wonderful spot. However, it has no beach and the neighboring beaches are very rocky. (There is no sandy beach for miles.) The hotel will give you a toweland point you in the right direction, but when you get there, you will pay 50 euros for an umbrella and 2 lounge chairs. THE SINGLE BIGGEST DECEPTION IS THE ROOFTOP POOL. They have strategically shot the pool with a wide-angle lens. The "wading pool" is VERY SMALL; too shallow on the small perimeter and too deep in the tiny center to actually use it. Yes, you can enjoy a cocktail by the pool; however, there is no rooftop bar and you will pay a 5 euro delivery fee. Each time. During our stay, the pool was occupied by noisy children, so we left after 20 minutes and never returned. Unfortunately, we booked the Laurin, in part, for the promise of a secluded rooftop pool... If, however, you are coming here for the breakfast? It is fantastic! And the covered balcony is very nice when you retreat from the pool. (Remember to bring your drink, as there is nothing in your fridge but 2 bottles of water.) For Italy, I am informed, the staff was nice. Do not, however, expect a smile. (Tip: The people of nearby Sestri Levante are warm and friendly, the beaches are nice, and the town is beautiful. And if you tire of pasta and shellfish every night? Sestri Levante is home to what is possibly the best Tex-Mex restaurant in all of Italy, Nauroz Tex-Mex.)"

B&B Hotel Genova City Center

"The hotel entrance is a little hard to find and check in is on the 5th floor. The difficulty is with where gps leads you though and not the hotel itself although perhaps a detailed message with arrival directions would be helpful. Overall it was a clean hotel and nice for a night while we discovered Genova. We had hoped to enjoy the breakfast the next morning before continuing a long travel day but had a difficult time “signing up” for it. We were told to scan a QR code and follow the prompts by 11pm - we did ask again where in our room the code could be found as we did not see it and they directed us to turn on the tv. It popped right up however we each had to scan and create an account to then pay for and get the vouchers. It was such a hassle that we gave up as the website was not very clear to us and truly we both did not want to sign up for accounts we’d have to go and close. It would be much more convenient if the front desk offered a physical voucher to purchase directly from them. Otherwise from that, a nice stay and comfortable room."

Hotel Genova Liberty

"An excellent, reasonably priced, well-located 3 star hotel. My sister and I loved it. We got a Volabus from the airport to P. Di Ferrari and it was a short walk from there. The hotel is in a great location on a main road, which for us felt safe especially walking back at night. It has a cute shopping street behind it and some bigger high street type shops on the main road. Genova Brignole station, Porto D’Antico, Via Garibaldi and many other sites are easy to walk to (10-15 mins). The breakfast was fantastic bearing in mind that it was a 3 star hotel. Our room was clean, had a balcony and everything we needed. It is an old building full of original features / character that we found charming. The staff were friendly and very helpful. Cons: there were no cons for us (we would 100% stay there again) however there are some things you might want to consider. I wouldn’t say it’s suitable for young families, if you have a lot of luggage or have mobility issues. The hotel shares a building with other businesses so reception is on the 2nd floor. The lift only carries 2 people and sometimes is out of order (for us the original lift was a quirky plus point!) so be prepared to walk up several flights of stairs to your room. Reception is open until 11pm and after that you use codes to access the building and your floor. The bathroom was well equipped/clean, but fairly small. For us the hotel was the perfect base to explore Genoa."

Best Western Plus City Hotel

"Good modern breakfast room that was also a restaurant in the evening but we couldn’t use it as hadn’t booked . Clean room average size . Big bathroom and nice shower . No bar in the hotel . Near the nice square and also bus including the hop on bus and the metro . Plenty of restaurants nearby. Was hard to find hotel initially as on a small road tucked away."
