"The hotel is worth seeing inside. Staff was very helpful and easy to approach. The property is in a great location for Genoa, so you can walk anywhere and get a meal or people watch. Don't bring a car, there is no parking which is cheap."

"I will always stay here in Genoa. Get off Brignole train station. Hotel is 1200 meters from station- but a world away. On arrival greeted by name, simple streamlined registration. Room large, airy; large windows w 100% blackout curtains. Nice bathroom and dressing area. Nice balance bt soft and firm mattress. Didn't love pillows. Breakfast was good, hot food and continental with some regional specialties. Easy routes to any sites of interest. Pharmacy next door, GREAT restaurant family operated; "Stallone" 2 blocks away. Open latish. Meticulous housekeeping. Uniformly helpful and pleasant desk personnel. 10 minute walk to shopping. 15-20 minutes to the old port. Bus stop across street. Two older women we felt very safe at all hours. I am unreservedly enthusiastic about this hotel experience."

"We loved our stay in Portofino. The view from our room was out of this world. We made use of the private terrace overlooking the bay too. This had everything we needed for our overnight trip. The staff were extremely helpful."

Main problem was that the room (apparently recently renovated) was very strange with the shower and bathroom sink in the same room as the bed.
