Sorrento, Campania hotel rooms at the Relais & Chateaux

"Our stay at the Grand Hotel Europa Palace in Sorrento was fantastic. The location is ideal—just steps from the center of town and about a five-minute walk to the train and bus station. The ferry is a bit farther and requires going down to the base of the cliff, but there’s a lift near the marina that makes it much easier. What truly sets this hotel apart is the staff. Everyone—from the front desk to the porters to housekeeping—was incredibly kind and welcoming. A special thank you to Lucchia, one of the room attendants, who was especially lovely. The breakfast team was also excellent, including the gentleman in the white tux, the woman and two younger staff members, and the omelette chef. One of the front desk staff even told us she would miss us when we left, which says it all. The views are stunning—overlooking the Gulf of Naples with Mount Vesuvius in the distance. Having a drink at the bar with that view was unforgettable. The pool requires several staircases to reach, and the water was quite cold during our stay. The sea was also very cold, and windy conditions made swimming difficult at times. We visited Positano and Amalfi, but Sorrento was our favorite—great vibe, shopping, and restaurants. The Grand Hotel Europa Palace sits right in the middle of it all. You come for the views, but the staff make it feel like home. We can’t wait to return."

"A beautifully appointed property with all the amenities right at easy reach. The restaurant is fantastic, but not for the casual diner. You'll be there a while. If you need a simple meal, the rooftop is good, and there are options within a block."

"Staff was incredibly helpful and cheerful. Pool area and terrace are beautiful. Location is quiet and away from the hustle & bustle of the vibrant and somewhat crowded city. Yet it is an easy 10 minute walk to the center of town. Breakfast in the mornings was very good with lots of choices including a hot grill area for cooked to order omelets and eggs. Breakfast area during our stay was in an open air area terrace with a spectacular view of Sorrento and the Mediterranean. However, If you sit close to the railing, don’t leave your table unattended as we witnessed pigeons swooping in and taking food off plates on tables that were in attended. Based on other hotels in the area I believe we found a great value and would highly recommend. We will definitely stay here again on our next visit to Sorrento."

"Spent 5 nights in a Sea View suite. The view was incredible of the Bay of Naples and Vesuvius! Hotel located right on the cliff above the water and near the ferry terminal which is convenient. About a 10 minute walk from the train station. Grounds are immaculate, breakfast was great every day with very attentive staff. Didn't use the pool or restaurants but everything looked good. Easy walk to the main areas of Sorrento. It's an older hotel with a lot of charm and we enjoyed our time there."
