Price for this property is overpriced. I compared value for money against a hotel my friends were staying at which was Dzimbahwe Hotel . They were paying much less than we were and the rooms were double the size with much better facilities. The swimming pool was not fit for a swim. They only have four rooms in total. The manager said that the property is being sold. We do not recommend this property in its current condition.

Lovely lodge in Victoria Falls
Very welcoming lodge about a 15 minute walk from the centre of Victoria Falls Town. Lovely garden and a nice room equipped with both air conditioning and a fan. The manager of the lodge (Margie) is the life & sole of the lodge. She is very knowledgeable and very helpful. English breakfast was included in the price. Only negative was that the lodge is in need of some investment to update some of the furnishings, especially around the pool area.

The lodge is being run on a tight budget but the service provided by Margie was excellent, especially recommendations on local restaurants and tours. She went out of her way to make our stay memorable. I fear the lodge has been sold to new owners so cannot comment on future.

7 Nächte in angenehmer Umgebung
Egal ob Service, Betten, Dusche, Klima, WLAN, Garten oder Frühstück, es hat alles perfekt gepasst und wir haben uns die 7 Nächte sehr wohl gefühlt. Die Lodge liegt in einer ruhigen und grünen Umgebung und ins Zentrum sind es gerade mal 20 Minuten zu Fuß. Es bieten sich drei Straßen an, die man problemlos gehen kann. Und wenn es finster ist, dann einfach mit dem Taxi um 5 $ fahren. Gibt genug Taxis und sind zuverlässig! Von Downtown sind es auch nur 10 Minuten zum Victoria Fall Nationalpark. Margie managed die Lodge und bietet auch die Möglichkeit Ausflüge zu organisieren. Das Preis-/Leistungsverhältnis stimmt auch!

Too far away from any restaurants or shops. Swimming pool wasn't clean enough to use. Bed springs could be felt in the mattress. Towels need replacing. Gardens were well kept and breakfast was decent. Safe and quiet.

The pool dose need painting again as the paint that was purchased some two years ago is already coming of so it was not the quality they said it was. Only 2 people were there to help. They were warm and welcoming. One was the caretaker of the property, a black gentleman. The other was the cleaner and cook, a young black lady.

Good choice for a short stay
Mandebele lodge was a good choice for a 2 night stay in Victoria Falls. The staff was outstanding and the manager went out of her way to assist us in arranging tours and restaurants. Our only complaints with the lodge were the beds were uncomfortable and the Internet needs a range extender. Internet is good inside the reception area but is weak in the bungalows. The beds need a mattress added on top of the bed springs. Our beds only had a small piece of foam laying on top of the box springs. This is very uncomfortable for aging lodgers.

Would stay again if visiting this area
Mandabele Lodge is in a quiet spot about 5 minutes walk to Victoria Falls in Zimbabwe. Margie the manager is fantastic and really does all she can to make guests feel comfortable. The breakfasts here are lovely and rooms comfortable and spacious. There is also a pool in the grounds. An excellent place to stay and only about 12 miles from the airport.

Mandebele Lodge wird von Frau Margie Ponss geleitet und sie macht den Aufenthalt zu einem einmaligen Erlebnis. Sie hilft bei jeder Frage, organisiert kostenlos jede Tour, gibt wertvolle Tipps und achtet aber auch auf die Lodge in Bezug auf Sauberkeit und Sicherheit. Selten habe ich mich so wohl gefühlt!! Die Lodge selbst liegt etwas ausserhalb und bei großer Hitze ist ein Spaziergang in den Ort oder an die Fälle sehr anstrengend. Die Fahrt mit dem Taxi kostet 10 Dollar. Überhaupt sollte man dringend darauf achten Dollar in kleinen Scheinen dabei zu haben. Geld am Automat gibt es nicht.

Margie was an excellent host, she recommended and organised our helicopter flight as well as a really good dinner cruise. The lodge is unfortunately showing signs of under investment, facilities are quite basic - no bedside lights, only one ceiling lightbulb. No hairdryer and a broken safe. The pool water was looking green and uninviting. Zimbabwe is going through a turbulent financial period and this seems to be reflected in the lack of investment in the property. Margie tries as hard as she can within the limited resources available to her.

Einfache Unterkunft, dies war bei Buchung klar, aber durchgelegene Matratze und gelblich verfärbte Bettwäsche (Bezug und Kopfkissen), laden nicht zum entspannten Schlaf ein. Wenn etwas Geld in die Hand genommen würde, dann wäre das alles kein Problem, aber der Besitzer will wohl nur Rendite machen.

Margie, the manager at the Lodge is warm and welcoming. She runs the Lodge very well and considering the limitations she must work with currently in the country, i.e. hydro shortages, food allowances, she's amazing. The Lodge is well situated and not far from downtown area. Noise of helicopters quieter than downtown. Security was good. Would love if possible to expand for lunch and/or dinner available at the Lodge.

Extrememly helpful and friendly manager and staff.

The Manager is very good and make us felt very welcomed. The facility is good and the breakfast are great. It is clean, tidy and has a cosy environment that we can relax. It is out of but close to the town and I prefer this way.

20 Minuten zu den Falls
Sehr gute Lage zum fairen Preis, nur 20 Minuten zu Fuß zu den Victoria Falls. Mitarbeiter sehr freundlich und hilfsbereit, wenn gewünscht wird alles mögliche organisiert, Ausflüge bis hin zu den Transfers. Die Außenanlagen sind auch sehr schön, gepflegt und ein klasse Pool. Immer wieder gern.

Quiet and comfortable
Our host Margie was a delight and very helpful with activities in the area. We had the place to ourselves and it was a welcome quiet wind down to the end of our hectic trip. Margie catered a full English breakfast each day and offered a laundry service complete with ironing for an extremely cheap rate. Towels provided for pool area. Great value for money.

From the first welcome on the staff was fantastic! Rooms were clean comfortable and in good repair. Very well maintained, good water pressure, and furnishing are beautiful. About 1km from downtown, but we walked several times and felt very safe. Highly recommended! !

A very special place set apart from some of the more ‘generic’ accommodation available in the area. From the moment you arrive - Margie is a warm and welcoming host who will organise and advise with great skill - she made everything work like clock work - recommending and organising trips and suggesting activities and making this a fantastic time in this beautiful part of the world - we will return ! Our host was fantastic. She really helped us with some solid advice that only a true local would know. She seemed to have our best interests at heart so that we got the most out of ourr trip. She has done a fantastic job given the shortages because of the politcial impacts on the economy.

Had a lovely stay at Mandebele Lodge. The host, Margie, is absolutely fantastic - warm, friendly and helpful. She went out of her way to help us when one of our booked tour activities didn't turn up to pick us up. Breakfasts are also delicious!

Nice accomodation near the Victoria Falls
Margie has everything under control in this small lodge, additionally she can give you good advices at any time. You can enjoy good breakfast here, good restaurants for lunch and dinner are nearby in the town, at daylight you can reach them by foot. You have large, clean rooms and outside pool in this lodge. As long as first class hotel luxury is not your claim, you will find here what you have been looking for.

A hidden oasis.
The most wonderful lodge in the area. Staff was so outstanding ...the personal touches made all the difference. All recommendations and activities were on point. Breakfast was very good ...safety most excellent ...Pre checkin communications excellent. I would repeat the next time I come back.
