“Overall it was a good stay. The room was clean, comfortable and the bathroom ok. the staff was very friendly and helpful. Parking was no hassle. The restaurant with room service was very convenient. I was a bit disappointed that there wasn't a vending machine on property.”

“If the moxy car park is full and you are directed to an over-flow car park, remember the £10 that was paid at check-in will not cover the over-flow car park charges. This has to be paid separately. We were misled in thinking we can use the over-flow but unfortunately we incurred a £60 parking ticket. The staff refused to take responsibility for this and it was a total nightmare. In the end we just paid the £60. The worst weekend.”

“Warm welcome from staff at reception. Room was clean and comfortable although a little dated. No air conditioning, had to leave windows open which then creates problems with outside noise. Bathroom spacious but also very dated. Shower in bath not ideal, no extractor fan. Hotel is brilliantly located for city centre, Barbican and train station and car park is located right underneath hotel which is so convenient and secure. Bar and staff very pleasant. “Everything about the hotel and staff was perfect. The only thing that we had issue with was the parking arrangements. Our Expedia booking included free parking, but apparently parking is only guaranteed when booking directly with the hotel. Expedia were not transparent about this. Hence, on the first night, we had to park on the street and pay £14.40 for five hours...waiting for an allocated hotel parking space on a first-come, first-served basis to become available.”

“Beautiful surroundings, pool area was lovely. We were disappointed with the room, it was tired the air con wasn't working well and the hot water wasn't great, the taps ran hot for a few seconds only and the shower went from hot to cold quickly.”

“The location was ideal, just a 5 minute walk to The Hoe, easy walk to The Lido and the Barbican, 20 minutes from the Train Station, the room I stayed in was small but adequate for what I needed, they no longer do Breakfast but there are a choice of places within a 10 minute walk, bed was comfy and a selection of teabags and coffee in the room, these aren’t always replaced daily but if you ask at reception they will give you some, would definitely stay again if I go back to Plymouth especially...

“What a lovely hotel. The couple that run this can't do enough for you. It's decor is lovely and has a very extensively stocked bar. The breakfast was top notch too. Top tip, if parking outside they supply a permit which will save you some money.”

“The property, with parking on the driveway, is opposite the lovely Central Park and an easy walk down to the Hoe. We were made very welcome and enjoyed a good breakfast. The “Narnia” en-suite was ingenious. The beds were comfortable and the room, despite being on the front of the property, was quiet.”

“Hotel does need some maintenance doing, our room had some damp in a patch in corner. flakey paint on wall in bathroom. At breakfast there was a bulb going in the main light which was flashing all the time we were having breakfast. Fire exit handle was broken in restaurant and fire extinguisher needs looking at. Food at breakfast was very nice 👍”

“Friendly and accommodating staff - decor a bit tired - shower was broken on arrival but the staff were quick to sort it out. Clean, tidy and in a beautiful environment - lovely views from my balcony. Breakfast was good - ordering in advance at a set time meant no waiting for hot food.”

“Great place on the Cornwall/Devon border, equidistant from the stuff you can do in the Southwest. The food they serve is great, as is the staff I interacted with. An EV charger in the same parking area is very helpful, as well. I was surprised that my single room didn't have a TV. The water pressure and heat when trying to shower were never consistent (but usually okay). While not a comment about this hotel, know that this area doesn't have much for stuff to do.
