"This is a historical hotel and it is VERY cool, the rooms are great, amazing AC, very nicely repainted in such nice colors, the whole place is just really neat, there are no TVs in the rooms which I liked, it was like a time machine, sit down and read something instead of the TV, such a refreshing change, they did have wifi which was nice, the lobby was very nice and I highly recommend this lovely historical hotel."
"The place itself was great! It is extremely close to the General Grant Tree, fallen monarch, panoramic view, big stump trail and Mark Twain’s stump! Within walking distance, there is a market and one restaurant. Overall, I would stay here again."
"This place was clean, the staff was wonderful, and the walk to the river is very close. It was close to restaurants and just a few miles to the entrance of Sequoia. I would definitely stay here again."
"The staff were helpful and friendly. The breakfast was great. The room was nice for one night and convenient to the location. Had to carry luggage and food storage upstairs."
"Common with most people, our primary reason for booking a room here was the convenience of being in the National Park. The staff were helpful - as an example, we were given complimentary toothbrushes as we were unable to recharge our electric toothbrush. Whilst we did not take breakfast we ate in the restaurant on two nights and enjoyed our food. We also booked and enjoyed a star gazing evening which began at the reception area of the Lodge. Our room was quiet and comfortable."
"it was a nice tidy room and clean bathroom, the bed was soft and comfortable to sleep in. I like about the AC is that the temperature is not set to specific temperature, you can go down up to 59 degrees and big plus is they offer complimentary hot breakfast. the location is very close to Sequioa National Park."
"Cedar Grove Lodge is in an absolutely beautiful location along the river in King's Canyon, and if you're there to hike the great trails in the area or hang out in a lounge chair along the riverfront, you'll be happy. The lodge isn't the point--the location is. The lodge itself is old, run down, and clearly hasn't been maintained. Rooms are grubby and show signs of water damage and age, showers are tiny with pitiful water pressure, mattresses are old and don't smell great. But if you're not here to hang out in the room, that probably won't bother you! We enjoyed the break from phones, WiFi, and internet, and were happy to enjoy our time outdoors every day before coming back to crash at the lodge. The snack bar is your only option for food and has limited options and hours, but everything we tried was surprisingly good and really reasonably priced for in-park meals. The market is well stocked. The staff throughout the property were SO helpful, friendly, and hard working. You're in a remote canyon--be flexible and enjoy your beautiful surroundings!"
