I liked the large beach area. After that everything was basic or below basic. Check in line went super slow. Normally staff would offer refreshments at every other resort I’ve been to but not this one. Our 1st room had a leaky shower that would leak into the whole bathroom. We had to stay a day in that room until they moved us and they didn’t help us move. After the move the bathroom had spots of mold. Ewwwww. Restaurant service is extremely slow every restaurant we ate at food came out and it was cold not cooked properly the steakhouse is an fee 20 per adults $10 per child for below basic steak mistake we ordered had an extreme amount of fat and grizzle service was slow and food came out cold Italian restaurant portions are extremely small again food came out cold even the buffet it food warmers but all the food seem to be cold my son had waffles one morning that were like hard as can be. The only hot food for breakfast was the omelettes cooked to serve one omelette line that consistently would have 10 to 15 people on it so you would always have to wait

The food is delicious and the staff is very friendly. Upon arrival be prepared to be served with a sales pitch for a membership to the resort.

This is our fourth time visiting GR Caribe and our 7th/8th visit at Solaris Cancun resorts. GR Caribe is newly renovated as Adults Only. They are always clean, with friendly staff. GR Caribe pool is quiet and small with a slower vibe, perfect for people who want to relax. Majority of the guests were retired aged. If you want more action, you will end up at the Solaris pool to find it. Speaking of action, there used to be live music at Solaris that was so much fun, Like a mini dance club(everything is there, spa, theater, etc.). Now there is only the after dinner show in the theater, occasional karaoke, overtaken by little kids, & loud unmanned Rave music! One of the most disappointing part of the trip and reasons for my low rating is the food. I know all-inclusives have a rep for subpar food but in the recent years the food options/variety has diminished! They used to have more stations to prepare dishes but this year it was the same thing every night. Lastly, the pressure to become “members” is frustrating. We decided to listen in exchange for “free” excursions. Our 90 min presentation lasted almost 4 hours, and when we didn’t see the value in their offer, we didn’t receive half of what we were told. The rest had a “catch” or limitation. It was very disappointing All in all we had a blast! Staff are super friendly and made our stay amazing. It is safe, clean and familiar so when we go back to Cancun, we will yay there again.
