One of the many mountain views along the Cache la Poudre Scenic Byway. I'm not sure if these mountains are part of the Medicine Bow, Never Summer or Rabbit Ears mountain range but they are breathtakingly beautiful! In the foreground is a dirt road that leads into State Forest State Park. Start the drive in Bellvue, Colorado and continue west towards Walden. Stop at all the pullouts and look for moose and big horn sheep, or picnic and fish the afternoon away. For some of the best moose watching in the state explore State Forest State Park. There are a multitude of camp grounds along the Byway. Explore the Arapaho National Wildlife Refuge and stay the night in Walden. Or, continue your drive south on Route 25 and stay in Grand Lake where you can shop, eat, hike, boat, fish... Beautiful property. Pricing is a bit high. Accommodations were excellent. I believe off season pricing should be less to encourage more people. I pretty much had the place to myself. Staff were super friendly and helpful.
