"Staff were very friendly and helpful. Hotel, although dated, was lovely and rooms (riverview) were lovely. Couldn’t fault anything and we will definitely be back. "
"We stayed for 3 nights at the White Swan. We booked at 2 days notice, and got the last room available, so I wasn’t surprised that it was quite a smallish room, but very very clean and comfortable. Breakfast - the Northumbrian - was magnificent, setting us up for a full days walking with no room or need for lunch. Then in the evening, it was a village pub, with village pub prices, friendly staff and locals happy to talk, and really great food, again at very reasonably prices. We really enjoyed our stay and I can wholeheartedly recommend the White Swan without hesitation."
