It’s in a great location close to everyting in a pedestrian zone. The only improvement I suggest is the blind in the upstairs bedroom is missing so the sun starts coming in early making it hard to sleep late. "

Špilberk Castle is a castle on the hilltop in Brno, Southern Moravia. Its construction began as early as the first half of the 13th century by the Přemyslid kings and complete by King Ottokar II of Bohemia. From a major royal castle established around the mid-13th century, and the seat of the Moravian margraves in the mid-14th century, it was gradually turned into a huge baroque fortress considered the harshest prison in the Austro-Hungarian empire, and then into barracks. "Staff were great although the reception staff were hit and miss with positive/welcoming attitude. Conditions in hotel 'great' as expected. Good choice and quality of food at breakfast with the exception of the 'English / warm' breakfast (The worst I have had in Europe for several years. Fried eggs, runnie on the top burned on the bottom, bacon like tasteless cardboard, hash browns and beans not even warm. As I said the rest of th food was good."
