The horses as they swim across from Assateague Island.

The lighthouse has been restored and is beautiful! There is a short hike to the lighthouse from the road. It is open for tours, but the times vary, so if that is on your list of things to do while on the island....you will want to check on the dates it is open at the beginning of your visit.

The Cape Henry lighthouse located on Fort Story near Virginia Beach always gives me a wonderful sense of nostalgia.
