“Overall the property was great. Our biggest problem was our room really didn’t have proper working AC. I ended up having to go out and buy a fan to try and help cool off our room.”

There was a note and luckily the front door was unlocked so it worked out. Rooms are very nice, done in antique furnishings. Breakfast was good. The manager said she didn’t know about our dogs but we booked through Expedia and I made it known on the reservation and also selected a pet friendly room so not sure what more I could...

“We traveled from Tennessee to Appomattox Virginia to move my mom out her home after the passing of my dad. While ending the week of packing our uhaul. We needed a hotel. We chose Super 8of Windham in Appomattox we were ready to check-in and get much needed sleep. Entering into our room #104, the floors were filthy,tub had mold around the caulking, tub had no plug to sit in for a hot bath, some of our washcloths with dark stains. And after waking up in the morning I found blood stain on our bed...

“If you plan to go to this area frankly there is no better alternative. From the charming rooms and staff to the excellent meals, Babcock is a great place to stay.”

“I paid in full and was ask to cancel my reservation two weeks before using the property because the property wasn’t ready. I booked 5 months before stay. It was my son’s college graduation so I couldn’t find anything else. He said he would make it work. At the minute I was able to find something else, plus he said there were rescue dogs on the property and I didn’t feel comfortable with the dogs. I cancelled and he said he would work it out to give me a refund. I ask for at least 1/2 back....

“Michael was an excellent host. Property was clean and equipped as promised. Complete with Keurig and K-cups! Very quiet community, close to the places that we needed to go. High Bridge Trail is nearby, Three Rivers Brewery in Farmville. Nice selection of local houses of worship in the area. Would definitely recommend”

“This is truly a unique apartment on the James...It's rough hewn wood framing interior and Elizabethan-style decor lend an air of the spiritual and mystical to your stay. The master bed is SOOO comfortable, the kitchen is well equipped. There are fabulous views from every room.
