“Clean and updated room, nice bedding and towels, AC unit works great; just no coffee maker or hair dryer so if these are a must, bring your own. I stayed here to travel in between Hungry Mother and Mt Rogers areas, great hiking and mountain views. Saltwell and Skull Gap are nice overlook areas, also Virginia 16 for Back of the Dragon. Rogers is about 20 min away, as is Hungry Mother, Chilhowie is the perfect small town spot to stay in. ”

“Booking was effortless through Expedia. We were greeted at the door by Pat, the owner. He gave us a quick tour and set a combo code to the front door of the house of our choosing. There is an open snack and coffee area, and "trail magic" shelf full of items that a hiker might need without a store nearby. The shared bathroom was WELL stocked. The cats were very friendly and the inn gave plenty of notice of the household cats. All in all a very enjoyable stay. The actual bedroom was quite small,...

“The fridge in the room was noisy. There was no complimentary tea or hair conditioner in the room. The continental breakfast was lacking in terms of what I'd expect. No variety of bagels just plain, no oatmeal or fresh fruit or hard boiled eggs available. The cereal dispenser was empty. Delivery service for take out had only one option, Italian food. We were booked for two days but checked out early. They said they would refund us for the day we didn't use but then never did give us a refund. ...

“This hotel was nice overall, but I had to use styrofoam plates and plastic utensils for breakfast, which I really dislike using (wasteful and flimsy). Also, my 6-year-old, who always goes in the pool, would not go into this pool because it was too cold. I also got a lame response from management about the pool always being 87 degrees and the regular chinaware always being available, neither of which was true.”

“The view from the room was amazing, overlooking the vineyard and the pond. The welcome flight of wine and snack tray were a nice treat included in our package. Best experience was with "Breezy" Bri at the bar--she was wonderful to chat with and the drinks she made were fantastic. All staff were kind, helpful and pleasant! Food was delicious, but a little expensive. I would definitely recommend Nicewonder for a quiet retreat and would love to go back!”
