Nice Motel, good location

Cute motel, nice staff. Noisy neighbors but cant be helped. Beds comfortable and warm layers. Good location near great food and proximity to various destinations

I loved staying here! I needed a little vacation for a few days so the Kings Rest was a good pick. The owner man working the front desk was very kind. I had read some reviews before & they had said it was dirty but I don’t agree. It was very clean & my expectations were met. Yes you can hear people but that is only if they’re loud! If you turn on the AC/Heater you’ll be just fine. I would love to stay here again!

The room was dirty when we arrived. Trash was not emptied and there was empty beer cans in the refrigerator. Towels had some big holes in them. There are no lamps so you have to keep the ceiling light on. You have to pay to use the ice machine. The beds were comfortable. Location is close to many things so that was nice!

Train next door

Didn't have fitted sheets, Alien travelers blaring hispanic music loudly outside till midnight. What mattered was shower was clean, two flat sheets on bed were clean. No rug or carpet but floor was clean. Loud train blaring horn at night is right next door. Again music next door in the morning, I could hear there conversation and laugh through the wall.

Except for the bed I would be giving this motel a 4 or 5 rating. The bed was terrible. Its a metal platform with a spring frame (not a box spring) sitting on top of it. It was topped by a rock hard mattress. Besides being uncomfortable, the bed made very loud noises when you shifted your weight.

A very comfortable old-school motel in downtown Gilroy. Nothing fancy, but you don't choose a motel for that purpose, and it was quiet despite being on the main road. Check-in was very efficient and the gentleman let us check in early. Soap was provided but not shampoo, so bring your own. Fantastic restaurant, Longhouse, located next door - wide variety menu of down home food with hearty portions at very reasonable prices. Would definitely stay here again.
