"We really enjoyed our visit. The only thing we could say is the bed in room 103 could do with replacing, quite uncomfortable. The bathroom should be updated, along with a new bed would make the room excellent. The food we found to very good and overall we will definitely recommend The Black Boys hotel, thank you."

"Our overall stay was nice but our room was too hot with no heating controls. We opened the window to solve the problem but…. then were woken up early both mornings with deliveries on day 2 and the Sunday market being set up on day 3 - both from about 5.30am"

"The hotel is nice location, however the room and most areas are looking quite quite tired, very squeaky floor in the room (100). I was worried moving around too much that it would disturb other guests."

The staff were genuinely warm and welcoming, which made a big difference. We had a lovely evening meal and breakfast was just as good. The location is in a quiet and peaceful village and the beer garden was a great bonus. We’d happily stay here again."

"Was slighty disappointed that the evening meal menu was limited. Would of also been nice to know you had to book the swimming pool for a half hour slot. Saw nothing on that on the website. Lockers in changing roo. Could do with amd update and maybe some mats on the floor coming out of the shower, was worried about slipping on the floor. But the service was good and friendly. Lovy touches in the room like a free cookie and complementary drinks. Love the furniture old stuff re vamped into tables and useful objects. Do think it is a bit overpriced for the rooms. But would stay again."

"Lovely little hotel. Breakfast choices were really good. Full English was very tasty. Staff friendly and welcoming. Shower wasn’t very powerful but we coped. "
