"My overall experience at this hotel was stressful and overwhelming...It was not the hotel itself, but the circumstances surrounding the hotel. At the time of my arrival there was a huge protest happening in the central area. Many of the main streets were closed due to a march and also an actual occupation of the city. It was nearly impossible for me to even get to the hotel entry, because there were tents and tarps that covered the entire street. There was no one from the hotel there to help. So, it was a very stressful situation. When I finally made it to the hotel, I was hot, sweating and clearly overwhelmed. It would have been very thoughtful and helpful to let me go ahead and check in at 2:15. But I was made to wait until exactly 3:00. Because of the situation outside of the hotel, I really was forced to stay inside. The only outlet was the restaurant hotel.
The staff were very kind and I absolutely loved my room. It was big, beautiful and clean. And the bed was fantastic!
At check-out, the streets outside were still blocked and occupied by the protesters, but one of the hotel staff took my luggage and guided me to an open street where I was able to get an uber.
If it were not for the protest situation, I would have loved my stay here."
