“Clean room but too busy for a private getaway ”

“Plenty of parking for the hotel behind the pub. Great shower in our room and comfortable king size bed (room 4). Good breakfast, cooked to order.”

“Everything was as usual really lovely. Unfortunately that Sunday happened to be the coldest and when l arrived the room was freezing cold. Staff tried their best to rectify the situation but to no avail. After an hour or more Lady Den brought me an extra quilt so l can use. The lady was a God sent she managed to get the temperature to at least 17 and it made a real difference. Overall l ended up with a good night in a warm place. Staff are so helpful at The Hamilton Arms.”

“The staff were efficient and professional. The room was comfortable and clean. The breakfast staff were rushed off their feet and it was obvious that more staff were needed as tables were stacked with used crockery and the breakfast items ran out in several areas. Not the fault of the staff on duty but the issue of needing more staff. I would also have preferred not to have to pay for parking albeit reduced.”

“Unacceptable hygiene – mold, dirt, and poor maintenance We stayed here for a weekend with our children and were very disappointed with the cleanliness and condition of the room. The bathroom had a strong moldy smell, and there was visible mold on the ceiling, which is completely unacceptable—especially with kids. The overall hygiene was poor. The carpet was very dirty with visible debris along the edges, and the bathroom areas showed clear signs of neglect and buildup. It did not feel clean or...

“Lovely hotel. Clean room. Exceptionally warm welcome from Micheal. Being shown to the room is a lovely touch, rather than being pointed in the direction of your room. We didn't have breakfast, but will next time. Car parking excellent. We will definitely return to this hotel and hopefully enjoy the amenities, as this visit we were just staying for one night and didn't have time enjoy the splendour of the hotel.”

“The property could definitely do with updating; a lick of paint wouldn't go amiss. However, I would describe the property as quirky. Parking limited but safe. Staff go above and beyond, very friendly and helpful. Food was very good. Overall 4 stars, just needs a bit of TLC.”

“I was visiting family and this hotel was only 5 minutes away from the village they lived in. It was nice and quiet and i would say is more for people passing through. Not really for families with small children, however ideal for when on the road with a lot of travel to do as a pit stop Staff friendly and hotel clean.”

“We had a two night stay here for our anniversary. Cannot fault anything. Staff are so friendly and helpful. Room was comfortable and immaculately clean. Breakfast was a great experience lots of choices from cold and hot options. Lovely garden to sit and relax. Had a lovely walk along the canal. Overall a great experience. ”

“Dusty room in areas. Rubbish behind bedside cabinet. Couldn’t get to plug easily to charge my phone as it was behind the cabinet and when pulled out there was thick dust and rubbish behind it. No deep clean for a long time. Dirty windows, old cobwebs around it. Pool was not in use so very disappointed as we had stayed there for this reason. ”
