“고속도로 휴게소 옆에 위치한 모텔입니다. 방의 청결도는 준수하였지만, Non smoking room이었음에도 담배냄새가 났습니다. 주변에 패스트푸드점과 스타벅스가 위치해있어 늦은시간까지 이용하기는 편리합니다. 망이 좋지않아 핸드폰 사용이 불편합니다.”

“It’s like stepping back into the 60s/70s. In its’ time it would have been the place to be. The decor is love it or hate it, but I found it a guilty pleasure. The bedroom was large, clean with a view of the lake and a balcony. The bed was really comfortable. Crisp, clean white bedding. I slept like a log. The carpet and curtains were faded and the shower head sent out water like a hose rather than a sprinkle. There was also a vent sending cool air into the room whether it was wanted or not. But...

“We had a garden room and mirror in bathroom or bedroom are not suitable to do make up or shave one in bathroom can’t get near it as sink then a shelf! As going son’s wedding this was a big disappointment! ”

“I had a great stay at Thatcher’s Bar and Restaurant from 8 May to 21 May 2024. I needed a quiet and cosy place for my time away from work to relax and Thatcher’s gave me all that. Although there were renovations going on, it was peaceful, great people responsible for housekeeping and great front desk employees 👏👏👏”

“Clean room and a great breakfast. Didn’t like that a cheap rate meant you had to drag your bag a long distance up and down stairs. No elevator. Otherwise happy.”

“Nice clean hotel, but bedrooms very dated. Window held together with worn out cello tape. OK in the summer but I imagine cold in the winter. Shower head would not stay up and cubicle old and rusty. Plug sockets loose and TV aerial socket fell out. ”

“Clean basic accommodation attached to an interesting old inn. Modern bedroom resembling Premier Inn, good value for the price paid snd in an ideal location as we were passing through Basingstoke on the way to Southampton. Breakfast was not included but offered at a supplement. Variety offered on the menu looked good but we overslept in the comfortable beds and so had to run. ”

“Hotel is very nice to stay. But it is not easy to travel without a car because of the public transport system is not affordable and though equiped its own pub (restaurant) in the hotel, there are few shops, restaurants, pubs etc within walking distance.”

“I have stayed in this hotel before, many years ago. It is an old hotel but the room was well decorated and the bed comfortable. This is the kind of hotel that knows it market and fulfils that markets requirements. I had the full English breakfast and the food was of good quality and just enough so that I didn't feel stuffed. I stayed there primarily because of the price, but also because it is close to a good pub and restaurants, so meant meeting up with friends easy. I will be going back there...

“Very lovely and helpful staff. Large bedrooms which are quite elaborately decorated! Our only criticism of our room is that it was very hot and the large sash windows didn’t open so no natural ventilation. It’s an interesting and historic property and reasonably priced. ”
