“This was my first visit and I wasn't aware of all the attached buildings like the party store with huge display of alcoholic drinks and many many choices for foods at a counter or vending machines. There is no hotel lobby and the check in counter is displayed among a counter for the general facility. The only reason I didn't mark excellent is that there was no outside sign among a number of doors to show entrance to motel. There was a huge sign with an arrow and word Diesel plus other doors...

“Very impressed with the Essenhaus and would recommend a stay here to anyone. The rooms were spacious, nicely appointed and superior to typical chain hotel rooms. The hallways and common areas were tastefully appointed as well, The entire property, inside and out, was immaculate. Walking/biking paths through the beautiful grounds led to the Pumpkinvine trail. “Remodeled old hotel with outdoor entrances. No elevator, but each of the two buildings has only two floors. Water leaking onto concrete balcony in a couple places. No smoking allowed, yet the room smelled like someone had smoked in the room. “I was traveling solo for my son’s rugby tournament, my first time to Indiana. Travelodge was over HALF the cost less than the price of the other hotels close by, but still very clean, very friendly staff and I felt very safe the entire time. It’s a very simple hotel, not really any amenities or breakfast. But there are many restaurants, stores, coffee and gas stations within EASY walking distance. “Excellent and clean hotel. Breakfast was great and had a variety each morning, check in staff was awesome, housekeeping was awesome, and everyone was friendly. The filtered water was especially nice.”
