“Was pleasantly surprised. The hotel was a little in need of a fresh coat of paint, however the staff couldn’t have been more welcoming and helpful. Dinner and breakfast were excellent, with a great menu. Asking for dietary options no trouble at all. The room was clean and tastefully decorated, and even in the hot weather I got an excellent nights sleep, thanks to a thoughtfully provided fan in the room. “Unfortunately, no A/C in room, which is not unusual, but on a very hot day for England, the bathroom towel racks were in full heat and almost boiling. Neither we nor the hotel manager could shut them off. One single fan provided little/no relief and room temp was + 30c degrees and never got to a comfortable temp overnight. Open windows didn’t help much. Almost zero sleep. Couldn’t wait to leave in the morning. Shame as the room and bed were otherwise good. Just couldn’t enjoy either. Big...
