"After asking the front desk if there was any deadline for check-in and given a response of “no deadline, you can check in any time of night”, I shared that no-deadline information with my partner whom I had booked the room for. He and his friend would be partying after a concert in downtown Boise, so I let them know that they didn’t need to rush to check-in and instead could party as long as they desired before checking-in for the night at the hotel. When they arrived at the hotel at 2:30 am after a fun night downtown, they were initially turned away. The staff told my partner that they have a check-in deadline of 2am. Thankfully, after I spoke with them on the phone, they made an exception and gave my partner their room. It’s terribly disappointing to know, however, that we were first provided false information and that the staff wasn’t initially willing to find a way to help my parter and his friend obtain their room for the night when they were intoxicated. What were they supposed to do, stumble through downtown Boise trying to find a room when the room that was booked for them was undoubtedly available? Best to not send intoxicated folks out without a place to stay at 2:30 in the morning. I hope Red Lion Boise Downtowner informs their staff and updates their policies and/or training."

"Great hotel, nice and clean, really close to the airport. Air conditioner worked fine, Wi-Fi good, the cable TV guide was very useful, the staff were very nice and helpful, and the breakfast was always hot and ready to go on time. Rooms are good size and layout was nice. Really enjoyed the stay, highly recommend it for anyone looking for a good deal."
