"Very well located across from harbor and steps from amazing restaurants and shopping streets. Comfortable rooms and lovely staff. They offer a great breakfast, as well as an outstanding bakery on premises. And there’s nice bar that sometimes has live music. Highly recommend for couples, families, and single travelers or groups of friends. Only drawback is that rooms are very dark and there’s very little hanging space…so you spend a lot of time trying to find things in your suitcase. Suggest you bring an extra headlamp or flashlight…and opt for a superior size room."

"I booked this through Travelocity and went back a couple times after we checked in just to verify: this is not listed as a hostel, but this was a hostel. Our floor had I believe 3 or 4 individual toilet rooms and I believe 2 or 3 shower rooms. Our room had a sink, which made things much easier and it had 5 beds, but that’s all that was in the room. There was confusion when we got into the room because while we did not book a hostel, we were not sure if other people were going to be coming in during the night but after a few minutes of looking things over we were pretty confident so we did actually have to put a chair at the door just to make sure nobody accidentally walked in as the bed was right next to the door. There’s a bolt on the door, but there’s nothing attached to the bolt, as in the wood was removed, so it’s useless. All of the said…the place was clean, the beds were extremely comfortable (this may have been simply because we were beyond exhausted! LOL), the communication from whoever runs the place made sure we knew how to get into the front door and how to get into our room. We saw no the staff other than cleaners the morning we left and they were definitely a number of very confused people trying to figure out outdoors, or where things were and such. The location is phenomenal, which is why I booked this. My work has had many layovers in Reykjavík and we literally laid over across the street so I knew this area fairly well.
