Staying at the Bowery was like stepping into the opulence from the past. It was just magnificent, from the setting in the 1900s of posh bar to the room service and located just in the right spot in lower Manhattan.

I feel like it's hard to say anything new about the Bowery but for what it's worth, it's truly a wonderful experience and excellent value. From the helpfulness of every staff member to the quality of the rooms to the fun bar, it's everything you could want. We stayed here while we were getting married and it's the perfect location. Treat yourself to this fantastic hotel!

An interesting hotel with an old-fashioned vibe. The lounge area was convenient and comfortable for visits with friends while I was in NYC (for only 2 days). Ate lunch at the restaurant once, food was delicious. The bed was comfortable and the city view fun. I thought the shower needed grab bars and the elevators were dim and slow -- my two negative comments.

The East Village felt like home after a day of sightseeing. No tourists anyway only locals. Easy to get anywhere in Manhattan bus, walk or subway.

We return to the Bowery Hotel whenever we're in New York City. The staff are amazing and it really feels like home. Gemma restaurant is a cozy meeting place for breakfast with our family, and after dinner drinks in the lobby bar is always a treat. It's a special place!

Perhaps there was too much hype for this hotel - but I thought it was fine but not great for the price. Plumbing is bad, room was clean but looked worn and main complaint was how noisy it is. Every night at 10 the bass would start thumping. Staff was friendly and professional.

Best hotel stay ever!
The best hotel I've ever stayed in. There is a clear investment in employee training and team members genuinely take pride in their excellent customer service. Leo made our experience exceptional. Rooms are average size for New York but will feel smaller than, let's say, a Las Vegas hotel. Not a problem for me but something to be mindful of if you have multiple suitcases. Very comfortable bed and linens. Loved the rainfall shower, water pressure was an unexpected plus. Turndown service is charming - loved the sweets delivery. Really enjoyed the lobby for drinks in the evening and breakfast in the morning. I appreciated that as hotel guests we were always afforded a spot, even on a busy weekend. This hotel was a little more than what I'd typically pay but for the quality of service and the fond memories alone, I cannot recommend The Bowery enough. Already I can't wait to come back!
