"Our stay at Guesthouse Koundo was excellent. It’s a beautiful home located, in our opinion, in the best spot in Nikko as it is easy to walk to the popular areas as well as catch the bus to go up to the mountain. There are also wonderful neighborhood restaurants to try within walking distance. It’s in a quiet neighborhood surrounded by beautiful nature. We were kindly allowed to leave our bags early, which was a great help because we had a lot of luggage. The home is kept in pristine condition,...

"Even though we were only at the house for one night, it was a very lovely stay. Nikko is gorgeous and the house allowed us to feel truly immersed in the culture. It’s relatively close to historical sites and Yoshiko was so kind to us. We had some delays and were rushed to reach the temple, but she drove us to ensure we had as much time as we could get. Would definitely stay again!"

"The hotel is close to railway and bus stations. Also a supermarket is two minutes away.. The front desk stuffs are very helpful and nice. The room is very clean and has no bad smells. Room is large compared with some other Japan hotels. Free breakfast is another plus!"

"Hotel had everything and was conveniently located 50 steps from bus stop you need to see everything around the area. Really like their locker system for leaving luggage after check out without having to worry about front desk being available after returning from sight seeing. Staff super friendly and nice. "
