"A Complete Disaster: The Worst Resort in Six Trips to Puerto Vallarta I have traveled to Puerto Vallarta six times, and my recent stay at the Barceló was without a doubt the worst all-inclusive experience I have ever had. The entire trip was a disaster, driven by severe facility issues and an incredibly unfriendly management team. Let's face it; the pictures online are 20 years old at least! The state of the hotel was shocking, plagued by multiple water leaks throughout the property. The most egregious leak was right next to the food in the buffet area; rather than properly fixing the issue, the staff simply laid out towels on the floor to soak up the mess. The hazards continued beyond the dining hall, with other active leaks causing standing water in the corridors on the way to my room. Furthermore, the beach—advertised as a private, swimmable area—was entirely unusable. There were at least 25 boats parked directly in the water where guests are supposed to swim. Having an obstacle course of boats in a designated swimming zone is completely unacceptable. When I brought these issues to management, they were entirely dismissive. The situation was so unbearable that I cut my losses and paid an additional $1,000 out of pocket to switch to the Hilton Vallarta—a far superior property with a staff that cares. Save your money and your peace of mind. Avoid the Barceló at all costs. "

"A True Sanctuary in Puerto Vallarta: My Third Visit and Counting This was my third time staying at the Hilton Vallarta, and it somehow continues to exceed my expectations. When you find a resort that truly allows you to disconnect, you keep coming back, and this property has become that go-to spot for me. What truly sets this hotel apart is the phenomenal staff. Walking through the doors and having the workers actually remember me from previous trips speaks volumes about their level of service. It instantly makes you feel genuinely welcome and sets the tone for a trip where your daily troubles just disappear. The location is unbeatable, specifically because of the pristine private beach. As someone who loves observing marine life and staying physically active, the access to the water here is fantastic. The swimming is top-notch, and you can experience excellent snorkeling right off the beach without ever needing to book a boat or excursion. It is the perfect setup: you can get some solid exercise in the ocean, catch plenty of sun on the sand, and then completely unwind. Finally, the dining is a massive highlight. You can expect consistently excellent, high-quality food across the board, which is exactly what you need to refuel after an active day in the water. If you are looking for a fantastic place to stay where you can simply relax, eat incredibly well, get some exercise, and let the ocean take your stress away, this is the place. I already look forward to visit number 4!"

"I love the service and friendly staff, everyone at the Hyatt ziva was amazing, I also enjoyed the private beach, the buffet was great especially Cesar a cook at the seafood station area. He served me some delicious spicy shrimp. I can't wait to go back to Puerto Vallarta just to visit my friends who work there. Thank you very much for making my stay very welcoming.see you next year."

"Most of the staff is friendly but the hotel is really small and extremely crowded. We traveled in a group of 7 and it took us 3 elevator rides each way to get to our room or down to the lobby. There is only ONE TINY elevator. The all inclusive amenities are not worth it there isn’t much to choose from. It’s the same food every day just plated different. The room service is part of the all inclusive but they charge you a “service fee” every time you order anything and there is a limit to what you can order. I do not recommend for anyone visiting for the first time. It would definitely leave a bad taste in your mouth and you probably wouldn’t never consider visiting PV again."
