“Clean room and ideal for one night ”

“We arrived to check into an accessible room. No help was offered to navigate a small set of steps to our room. No explanation of the amenities available or what time breakfast was served . The following morning our television didn't work breakfast was £16.95 for full english so we ate elsewhere. On our return after a lovely day out we were greeted with very loud music which all the guests had to endure as the events room doors were left open,so when we had to return to reception as our room key...

“The hotel is well positioned and presented, occupying a strategic location overlooking the town. The room occupied was on par for the standard of the hotel, albeit the slope of the floor in the shower made you feel as though you might tumble out of the shower. The restaurant felt somewhat cramped with tables sited at both ground level and on raised platforms, which gave the impression of either looking down on other diners or being watched. The staff were polite and professional with the food...

“First visit to Bowes incline and won't be the last.If it was on 4 in bed program I could be hyper critical on a couple of issues but I'm not.I always give a fair and balanced review's and this is what I'm doing,first impression of hotel was clean and well maintained,staff on reception were friendly and welcoming explained breakfast set up and evening meals.rooms are small but cozy for two and well appointed .can get a bit noisy in morning when people going for breakfast with doors...

“Very clean property throughout. Very helpful staff. Room clean and comfortable. Wi-Fi connection constant. Breakfast was plentiful and well cooked/presented. Would definitely stay again without hesitation”

“We booked this at the last minute as we were travelling up to the Scottish borders and wanted to break the journey due to the extreme heat. We arrived very late (about 11pm) but we had called the hotel in advance and one of the staff agreed to wait for us. When we did arrive we were greeted with a very warm welcome. Our one regret is that we didn't have time to make use of the observatory (yes you read that right!) All staff very friendly and helpful and loved the breakfast”

“Basic hotel, but clean room and comfortable bed. Staff really friendly and helpful. Stay included breakfast, but limited really to takeaway style bags in which to take your choices to your room, or sit at small tables in reception. Would probably give it a miss if staying again. Location is in the middle of large industrial estate, so whilst its cheap, and ok just to put your head down for a night or two, it is limited in what it can offer to tourists.”

“A hidden gem for any medieval castle hotel fan. We’ve stayed at many castle hotels and Langley Castle stuck out for its authenticity and unique details, especially the 14th century window niches. Make sure to reserve a suite with a window niche like Greenwich Room. Dinner is a nice occasion with drinks starting in the drawing room before descending to the dining room for the meal. Free castle history tour in the morning.”

“As many have said, this is a dated hotel with a very 1970s feel. We stayed on a Friday night as we had an early flight the next day, and the car park was very busy (as was the bar, so we ended up eating in a side room). The food was actually pretty good. The rooms were fairly basic but comfortable, and we felt safe the whole time. It was a very short walk to the airport the next morning (I asked if they did wake-up phone calls and got a firm 'no'). Still, the staff were friendly, and the hotel...

“The staff were polite and the rooms were well kept clean. We booked 2 rooms for a family break and it was nice. Perfect location, and we overlooked the Stadium of Light; which was brilliant. Very close to city centre which is convenient for tourists. The car park could have been free but it didn’t bother us paying £5. Will definitely recommend and come back again.”

“The hotel was tired and dated needs to be brought into the twenty first century the rooms were old fashioned the bathrooms dated weeds outside the property nearly as big as the windows the stair banister was so old it creaky when held onto the carpet throughout was Fred bare what rating is the hotel”
