“Location was good. Check in process was easy. The beds were comfortable. I don’t prefer to degrade but I also want to be honest though. The room was falling apart. There is obvious water damage. Drywall was falling off walls and ceilings. Several old patches. There was mold on the bathroom ceiling. The bed and bathroom were mostly clean, but the carpet was full of hair and probably hadn’t been cleaned in a while. There were several spider webs on the walls and stains on part of the comforters....

“We were a couple traveling from the United States, both in our later 50s. We ended up not staying in the room. After having to bring our four suitcases up two flights of stairs, our room was incredibly hot. When we opened the windows to try to cool things off, we were met by several flies and other insects. The lodging is on a very busy street in Elgin. The room itself was very nice and clean, so for a solo traveler, or perhaps anyone younger than us, this may have been the perfect stay. It had...

“A unique place to calm down and just enjoy life. Would totally recommend that experience. We shared the otter pod with me, husband and 2 kids and it was very comfy. Place also has hot shower and good sanitary.”

“Easy parking on the street in front. ( In October) Great view of the harbour and lovely sunrise. The house is lovely, very clean, fully equipped and spacious over 3 floors. The washer and dryer are tucked under the stairs and very much appreciated by NC500 road trippers. The owner provided timely check in info. Thanks Adam! ”
