If it's your first time traveling during COVID-19, you'll notice a host of new rules and standards in place. Follow these tips and make your getaway to South Oregon Coast go off without a hitch:

• Know if any restrictions apply to both your destination and origin. It may not be possible to travel depending on local circumstances, so be sure to check before you lock in your flight.
• Requirements state that you must wear a face mask throughout your travel experience, including at security checkpoints. You should be prepared to adjust your mask for ID verification when asked by a TSA employee.
• To decrease the risk of cross-contamination, position your boarding pass on the scanner yourself and then hold it up for inspection. Do not hand your boarding pass directly to a TSA officer.
• TSA is now permitting passengers to take one container of hand sanitizer, up to 12 oz (350 ml) in size, in carry-on luggage. This will have to be removed from your bag and submitted for screening.
• Empty your personal items from your pockets, like your wallet, phone and small change, and place them in your carry-on rather than into bins. This will minimize handling during the screening process.
• Transport all food items in a clear plastic bag and also place them in a screening bin. Separating food from your carry-on means it's less likely a TSA employee will need to touch and open your bag for inspection.
